These half hour episodes are only about 22 minutes when you watch them on catch-up. Barely worth turning the telly on for.

I'd rather just leave it and watch them all at once. My tea is still warm when the credits roll.

I've said that. I much prefer an hour long episodes (40 mins on itv X).
Around a month ago, I replied to someone who had posted on here. They'd said that debbie was Carl's mum.
I said no, she's his half sister (same dad, different mums) and gave a brief history of the Webster family. Well, this person must have had inside knowledge!
How old is Carl and how old is Debbie? Does Kevin know? I assume not. I admit that it was a total surprise. I honestly thought that this person who'd posted here was mistaken.
So we now know why Debbie didn't pass Elaine's phone message to Carl.

Yet more retconning. Though I struggled to read the tiny hospital bracelet, ditto texts. So we are expected to believe that teenage Debbie had a baby, unbeknownst to Kevin, and her Dad and stepmum raised him as their own? Which might explain why Elaine failed to bond with Carl. She was probably planning a deathbed confession. Debbie would clearly be more protective of her son. But really? How much more complicated do the writers want to make it?!

Debbie was born September 1968 and Carl was born in December 1986 (according to Corriepedia). This would make Debbie 18 at the time of Carl's birth, so it's possible. It was interesting to see that baby's birth band as it was written in English. Wasn't Carl born in Germany? This would mean Carl's father may have been German or (I really hope not) he was Debbie and Kev's dad Bill. Too many questions here

Debbie had a text from Elaine 'We need to talk about Carl' which she didn't respond to. Didn't mean anything to me at the time but presumably Elaine wanted it out in the open and Debbie wasn't ready. I suppose we'll now hear that Debbie 'went travelling' when she was 18 - details to be worked on by the writers!

It said 'Mutter'. Similar, but it is the correct translation.
