David Neilson, who plays Roy Cropper in Coronation Street, was interviewed this morning on ITV's Good Morning Britain.
David is taking a break from Corrie to star in a stage play with Chris Gascoyne, who plays Peter Barlow. The play is Samuel Beckett's Endgame and you can read all about that here.
David was interviewed in Glasgow, where Endgame begins at the Citizens Theatre. He was sporting a beard, the first time he says he's worn a beard since he was a teenager. He says he's enjoying not being recognised with the beard and wearing a hat!
He revealed he will be away from the cobbles for three months and will be back in April.

So off screen until June then as it's filmed two months in advance. Yikes.
Oh David....truly *enjoy* your time from the cobbles...BUT....don't enjoy it too much....your fans want their Roy back asap!!
Agree Vintgal003 ! But whatever makes him happy, so long as he keeps working!!
No, it's what David says. He'll be back on screen in April. Endgame is only running till the end of February, so if he's straight back to Salford, we should see him again mid-April. Thank goodness!
