In this week's fab Inside Soap magazine, they have a snippet from the Street about Callum's body. In an article about actress Paula Lane announcing her pregnancy in real-life, the magazine ponders what will become of Kylie when Paula takes maternity leave.
So far, Inside Soap magazine says, David and Kylie have managed to ensure their secret stays buried. However, that's all set to change, says Stuart Blackburn, Coronation Street producer.
"That particular secret will come to light at the end of spring or in early summer," the Corrie proucer reveals. "But the discovery may not directly impact the characters you think it will."
Ooh, I wonder who'll find the body if not Kylie, David and Sarah?

So we have to wait until then for this to happen? So, this whole oppressive plot line will have lasted for two years, at least. This will be Stuart Blackburn's legacy, along with the departure of so many popular actors and actresses.
I'm with Stephen. This story had been going on too long as of last year, now we've got even more months of Prattling Platt's to go.
Ugh.
I wonder if Paula got pregnant on purpose, just to get away from it!
lol
Been watching Coronation St. for many many years. I am so disappointed in the last few year.I still watch but not with as much pleasure and don't care if I miss some episodes.
If it doesn't affect Kylie or David, it's going to have to affect Jason since he and Tony would have filled in the hole, or maybe Todd since his fingerprints might still be on the burned out car. That might all lead into Jason's exit.
Just to counter the negativity my 83 year old mother and I have only been Corrie converts since the Hayley cancer storyline and thoroughly enjoy and look forward to each episode. Personally I've enjoyed the Callum story, although I wish people would stop saying he was murdered by Kylie, he wasn't, and legally you'd have a hard time proving even manslaughter. I just hope Paula doesn't want to use her upcoming maternity leave as a reason to leave the show permanently as Kylie can, when written well, be one of the most interesting characters on the Street.
Oh I hope it steers clear of Jason. He's been portrayed as such a decent, stand up guy it would be a shame for him to leave under a cloud as a fugitive for a crime (which initially wasn't a crime but defending another from harm) he had no hand in. And for us to deal with extra years of Gail and Eileen sniping.
The real crime was covering up the body instead of calling the po po. Lock up Kylie pretrial (so she can have her baby) then have a clever lawyer get her off as a terrified parent. Bend reality and apply the ruling to cover David and Sarah. Penalize the writers by docking their year end bonus 10% for every week this drags on; 15% for producers.
Count me in as another who's enjoyed the twists and turns of this storyline.
What a pity. I've been hoping against hope that David would answer the front door one day, and there would be Callum's face, leering in at him.
Gail to hang for his murder?
Gail to hang for Callum's murder? One can only hope. She is one (of many) charater who has gotten totally irrelevant and uninteresting. Let us be done with her! I, too have gotten more and more disappointed with this show, a show which I really looked forward to watching. Now I watch it out of nostalgia. I am no longer vested in any of the characters and so I don't care if I miss a bunch of episodes at a time. Pity, pity, pity. This show used to have such wonderfully crackling dialogue to go with the fabulous characters.
Tvor - we are so on the same wavelength...no need for me to repeat...total agreement here. :-)
I was hoping Callum was alive, somehow got out and his mum was in on it, hiding Callum for now and acting like a worried mum as part of their plot against the Platts.
Please don't dig him up again! This storyline is dead and buried for goodness sake. Let's have something more lighthearted for a change. Corrie is fast becoming full of doom and gloom like Eastenders!
I wonder, do the old and new producers consult on storylines that overlap their tenures? Is Stuart Blackburn trying to go out with a bang, while making life more complicated for Ms. Oates, forcing her to include material she may not want?
I'm with Abbyk dock the writers 10% SB 15% - works for me. I used to love watching, actually on non-Corrie days I would re-watch the previous episodes more than once. Not anymore - actually it's more like I watch the episodes while doing the dishes. same old, same old and so bland and predictable.
This Callum "murder" and disposal of his body has gone on far too long, especially since it was so ridiculous to begin with. END IT for good!! Have watched this show for MANY, MANY years, but have started to lose interest in the past year or 2 due to long, drawn out storylines that have become more and more unbelievable. I still like David and Kylie, Rita and Emily, Ken and of course my favourite, Roy (and the actors who portray them). The writing is not up to past standards, nor are the plots. I have found like many others, that I can miss shows and fast forward through much that I tape. Obviously long time cast have started to look for other work and don't hold the same allegiance to the show. It has become like a revolving door of new actors, many of whom just do not fit. I do not see this show carrying on for much longer, it is losing too many regular viewers to shoddy writing and producing. SAD!!!
This was too like Eastender's Den Watts plot..... another hidden body under concrete??? Seriously? I would have had it all happenas it did EXCEPT the body would have been ALIVE and in the TRUNK when Todd/Tony stole the car then they abandon it and it's later found torched w/a corpse in the trunk...........A BADLY BURNED CORPSE but IS IT CALLUM....... I am so disappointed in the writers now. The older characters are like caricatures of their former selves and the butt of stupid jokes it's almost a farce/drama now. I watched it since Deidre was 1st on it and have watched the quality decline badly in the last 3 years.I hope it can redeem itself with new writers soon.
By now..who cares? Kylie's going to prison. I doubt the actress will be back after her mat leave. She's got too much on her plate now. Yay..end of the Platt's! Can't wait.
The phrase "shows on" is heard M-F in our home....we have been fans since 1987....rarely missed an episode....and we too 'love all the twists and turns' it provides to us!! Some plot lines...yes...far fetched possibly....but all part of the 'soap' it is...and we look forward to our daily dose of Corrie!!
Gail will be blamed but she will somehow frame Tracy, who will actually go to jail for the one person she didn't murder!
If Callum is truly dead, then soap law decrees that his body must be found at some point. Ergo, the body will be dug up and someone will be blamed, Maybe not the right someone but in the end, the truth will come out.
Tvor's right on that. It's soap law that no secret death stays secret forever, (heck, no secret stays secret forever!) and the truth always comes out in the end.
Since Kylie's going on leave, and she's the one who offed him, I'm sure they'll lock her up for a few months, have the trial with lots of angst thrown in for good measure, then acquit.
I do hope that Kylie doesn't throw in the towel though, I think she's brilliant.
I agree with most of you. The only really interesting story line lately has been about Steve and Rover. C.C.
So Kylie just signed a new contract....so....setting aside word that she is going to Hollywood - here is a thought. Body is dug up, then deferring to Tvor...Jason/Tony blamed. Kylie cannot take the pressure, this time of someone taking the blame for her actions....so David ships her off to stay with Becky until it is over (and this includes her mat leave).
I hope they won't accuse Jason.. maybe Tony ? Him leaving abruptly could also be deemed suspicious by police, in addition to his role in the torching of the car.
