News from Inside Soap magazine this week and Coronation Street spoilers for next week reveal that Michael and Eileen will sleep together. I think I've just sicked up in my mouth.
But, after they spend the night together, Michael starts to see Eileen in a different light, and he's not sure he likes what he sees. After Micheal and Eileen's night of passion, Eileen can't wait to tell Gail all about it, and of course, Michael thinks Eileen's being a right nasty piece for doing so. I agree, she is. I thought the scene in the Rovers these week where Eileen battered the Battenberg was quite cruel.
Later in the cab office, Eileen finds a bracelet that a customer has left behind. But instead of tracing the customer and letting her know about the lost bracelet, she pockets it herself. Michael's perturbed by Eileen's lack of honesty - and him a reformed burglar too!
So as Michael starts to cool towards Eileen, should he go back to Gail?
I vote a big fat YAY. What do you say - Yay or Nay?

YAY! Of course Michael should go back to Gail.
Eileen is an awful person, sneering at everyone the whole time, even her own sister. How anyone would want to voluntarily spend time in her company is beyond me.
They should have got back together weeks ago and the story moved on in a new direction, I was so annoyed when Gail said those stupid things about Michael (totally unrealistic) so now we will be faced with yet more Gail v Eileen scenes. The current storylines keep going round in circles, dead horses being flogged...
Michael should stay in Corrie - but not with Gsil . I hate it when Gail plays 'winsome little girl' she used to do that with her own son Nick too ! It's gross . Can't bear it . Keep Eileen and him going for a while till someone else can be found for him . - like Bev Unwin - she and Gail are around the same age !
I don't warm to any of the parties right now. Michael should have had more comedy; Anonymous at 09.59 gets Gail's description spot on 'winsome little girl' - just awful, even worse when she's tipsy; Eileen went from witty to spiteful some time ago. Michael should lodge with Ken once Tracy's been thrown out. I thought he would be a good replacement for Lloyd as a pal for Eileen in the cab office. Sadly, not to be.
I find Michael a better fit with Eileen and please, would someone take that mewling, handwringing, whispering Gail out back and put an end to her misery? OMG, the cake scene was awful.
No. Michael's tainted good now. Gail should make a play for Jason in revenge.
Yay, Michael and Gail are still married and still a good couple. If Michael isn't happy with some of the things Eileen does, or her lack of ethics, Gail is the better one for him. I think he does still love Gail underneath all the hurt and broken trust.
Someone else said and I agree that Michael has a spineless quality. The going gets a little tough and he's gone. It didn't take long for him to find fault with Eileen. After finding fault with Gail. Not a very likeable quality overall.
Yay. The writers have really taken their eye off the ball with Michael. When all is said and done, surely now that he's calmed down, he must see that Gail was not primarily to blame for the whole debacle, honesty issues aside and allowing for her concerns about his health. Surely his biggest problem was with Andy, yet we assume he's now reached some sort of entente with him & Steph, since he's living with them. Yet none of this - potentially far more interesting material than this silly Gail/Eileen feud - has been explored on screen.
There's a childish, petulent trait emerging in Michael that's not attractive and is overwhelming the comic potential of the character (as Humpty says). Does the fact that Gail forgave him for burgling her when he was a perfect stranger and went out on a limb with her family to giove him a decent start after leaving prison not weight somewhat against her foolish mistake in not exposing Andy as soon as she found out, given it was prompted by her love for him. The essential decency of his character (c.f. his giving Kylie spending money for the kids' holiday & turning up for her counselling session) is at odds with this rather ugly need to keep punishing the woman he claimed a couple of months ago to be the great love of his life.
Gail should get her revenge by teaming up with Todd. Together they could make Eileen and Michael's life a misery.
Cobblestone,I agree with your post about Gail and she has been genuinely remorseful and was even civil to him and Eileen at Deirdre's funeral despite the fact they were rude to her when she informed Eileen of Deirdre's death.
As for Eileen, she's become a mean, spiteful character who revels in the misery of others!
Neither, Michael should hook up with Mary. Perfect match. The new Derek and Mavis with a twist.
Eileen and Michael are a very strange mismatch.
The guy Eileen was dating was a better match. She's such a grump. Someone older, with a bigger personality, is needed to liven her up.
Yay to Mary and Michael
Michael has dodged a couple of bullets. He should count himself lucky, realize there's no longer any reason to stay on the street, and see if he can attempt to make amends with his former wife, who's made kind and generous gestures towards him both before and after the death of their son.
michael and audrey better!
I'm surprised that Gail hasn't yet offered to be a surrogate mother to one of her sons. She's as infatuated with them as any other man.
Poor old Gail. She clearly kept Gavin's secret to protect Michael's health, and she's suffered enough. Michael will forgive her at some point, surely?
And I don't like the sound of the bracelet plot. Eileen has always been a fairly honest person, and yet again a character is being changed just to suit a storyline.
Personally, I don't care who winds up with who, as long as the writers -please, please- MAKE THEM ALL GROW UP!! I keep expecting one of them to come out with "I'm gonna get my big brother to beat you up!" They are all mature characters, they should start acting with more maturity.
