Review of new Coronation Street board games

There are two new Coronation Street board games being launched this summer.

The first game is the Coronation Street Trivia Board Game. It's a game for 2-6 players and you can play as individuals or teams testing your knowledge of all things Coronation Street. The game includes over 750 True or False questions.  It will sell for £19.99. For more information visit www.jumbo.eu

The second is this 1,000 piece Coronation Street jigsaw. It's called Double Acts and features 38 famous Corrie partnerships. Snapshots of favourite character double acts, old and new, have been especially brought together in a unique and memorable puzzle montage.  It will sell for £12.99. In the true spirit of Coronation Street fan-based fairness, I tested out the new game and the jigsaw with our blogger Sunny Jim. And here's our reviews of both items.

The board game is great for those fans who, like we do, love Coronation Street quizzes and trivia.  It has a good mix of questions that will appeal to all ages of Corrie fans as some of the questions are quite easy and some are pretty tricky.

You choose one of six characters you'd like to be for the game - I was Lloyd and Sunny Jim was Steve!  As there were only two of us playing the game, we couldn't make use of all the features of it.  If you have more than one person in each team you get to use the 'cobbles' to nominate someone in your team that you think would know the answer to the question. If the nominated person gets the question right after you've 'cobbled' them, your team wins a bonus point.

In short: Good fun, lots of great Corrie trivia questions, a really well designed game.

The new jigsaw is called Double Acts and features couples from the cobbles. I liked this jigsaw a lot. It's got 1,000 pieces and is, like the board game above, both easy and tricky in equal measure.

There are plenty of great jigsaw pieces where you pick them up out of the box and shout "I've got Sunita's eyes!" or "Where's Norris' specs go?" that sort of thing.

In short: Lots of fun, and like the board game above, very well designed indeed.

I like jigsaws but i never did anything with them after. I really must make the effort to find out the easiest and best way to mount one because this would look great on a wall!
