It's Corrie's Lloyd Mullaney, actor Craig Charles, being covered in the ashes of a dead tortoise.
Apparantly, the scenes are part of a storyline where Lloyd tries to give the tortoise a "dignified send off" (as you do with a tortoise) but with the wind in the wrong direction, the ashes come flying back into Lloyd's face. The tortoise belonged to Lloyd's girlfriend, Mandy. How very odd.
Anyone know if there's ever been a tortoise on Coronation Street before, dead or alive?

Ok, that's bizarre. Might even beat out Theresa the turkey's feathers flying over the Battersby car after Les hit it at Christmas!
