Another puzzler which occurred to me in last night's episode, when Jason got stranded on Sunita's roof. It was a mean trick that Karl played, I thought. I've really gone off Karl since he took up with Sunita. Much has been written about Sunita and the drastic change in her personality from normal to sexbomb to harpy, but Karl's change has been dreadful too. I loved him with Stella (I still like her, sorry) but now... Lowering himself to playing tricks on Stella's new fella is a bit mean, I thought. Anyway, he took the ladder away and poor Jason couldn't get down.But to Jason's left I noticed something peculiar - a Velux window, a slanted window set into the roof. Now it's not beyond the realms of possibility that all of Corrie's houses would have attic conversions. It's a popular thing to do in small terraces where building out isn't possible but building up is. I write to you from my own attic, in fact, although mine isn't a conversion, the houses were built like this. It's entirely possible that Sunita's house has a loft extension accessed by a ladder from the landing or something. In fact this would be really helpful for Sunita as her kids as different sexes and could have a bedroom each.
But, why is it never mentioned? Why aren't all the houses extended in this way? Has the window always been there or is it new? Can we banish Sunita to her own attic?

It was Curly! He put his telescope up there! I remember from when he named a star after Raquel
Ah, right! I'm not that up on Corrie history and had forgotten it was Curly's house!
Aye, it's Curly's old house. Plus No.7 is actually one of the newer houses on the street, so it's a bit different from the other houses.
The other puzzler is why they had to recycle the 'moving the ladder' joke. Didn't Stella do it five minutes ago when Karl wanted satellite tv?

Obviously Collinson thinks we can't remember what happened from one episode to the next so he doesn't worry about things like that.
I feel sorry for the new producer getting stuck with all the improbable storylines that Collinson stuck him with that he has no hope of fixing so the Street will continue to decline.
I wonder if the loft isn't used as a bedroom now for one of the twins. Surely they're getting to where they'd want their own rooms. All the houses on the old side only are supposed to have two bedrooms as a third small room in all has become the bathroom yet there are an awful lot of people staying in them at various times. The front room that is often unseen is sometimes a bedroom as in Number 11. that's Sean's room and in Number 1 is/was Blanche's, now Amy's i think.
I really don't get you people always complaining about doing something that's been done before. I can maybe understand about a larger plot being repeated too often, but smaller things like moving a ladder......are you trying to say if a ladder's been moved once while someone's on the roof it can never be done again! A bit extreme I would have thought. Surely there are only so many scenarios to go around with maybe a few variations on each.
People go on about wanting things true to life, well in life things are repeated. Or should it remain an entertaining soap, where a certain poetic license can be used? After all, unless you're watching a doco or reality tv etc, isn't tv supposed to be a kind of escapism? So which is it? It sounds like some want their cake and to eat it too!
I thought it was funny that Lewis, who is used to boinking old women as part of his work, put off Gail with an excuse. it seems she is yucky even for an old gigolo to bed.

I wouldn't mind the odd repeated story if I was happy with the bulk of the stories, but it's just the same thing over and over. I can't remember a burgulary on the street, other than fake ones by serial killers.
The ginnel behind the houses is just a burgular invitation. It's something that has happened to nearly everyone I know and could cause ongoing drama. Maybe Chesney forgot to lock the back door and so they got robbed. Perhaps katy no longer feels safe and wants to move, but they can't afford, so goes behind Chesney's back to get Owen to turn the house into Fort Knox. This is the kind of thing that Corrie used to do so well.
Yes, Karl had great potential when he arrived, but this Sunita story has totally ruined his character. I don't see how he can be redeemed - the only way is OUT I suspect. It must be a bitter disappointment for actor John Michie to see his character ruined and written into a dead end.
