Video: Coronation Street's Bohemian Rhapsody

It was a classic Coronation Street moment last night, written by Corrie writer Joe Turner, that had tears of laughter streaming down my face.

Determined to keep terrible Terry out of the unit so his plans to build lapdancing club Se7enth Hea7en were thwarted as long as possible, the residents staged a peaceful protest and a sit-in.  With their energy levels sustained by meals and puddings from Roy's Rolls, this has been a wonderfully funny farce to watch, culminating in a sing-a-long last night to keep their spirits high.

And so, here it is in all its glory, captured by a Corrie fan for YouTube. Here they are again - Norris, Anna, Mary and a reluctant Roy singing Queen's Bohemian Rhapsody.

I just watched this over breakfast and had to put down my coffee -- I was laughing so hard I was afraid it would go in my Mac. Galileo!

Brilliant writing all around, 'there's one Gail Platt in the world, we don't need another', twisting the screws on Terry, but that singalong was a classic. Like!

It was hammily acted and terrible and should have been on a children in need spoof rather than a scene in a storyline.

It was clever and a very good moment but I think blogging about it and the reaction to it indicates how little humour is in the programme these days.

I don't often watch clips that haven't aired here, but this one I had to see...can't wait until we see it. Who doesn't love a bit of Bohemian Rhapsody?!

I loved the scene but it probably doesn't belong in a soap. I said in another post that Corrie is becoming panto and sitcom, and here's another scene that fits the bill. Even so, very funny.

A nice break to a rather boring story...drawn out to show that even bad actors can still get a spot on a soap opera. Nigel..he's one dimentional..always sneering and rolling the eyes. Tommy following behind like a big puppy.
Sunta and Karl=gross.
That baby Jack is so sweet and those big dark eyes..awww.
Sally & Kevin..they need to move away from the street..it's long overdue for them to pack it in with these two.Antie Pam swans in to give Sally a piece of her mind..again. ZZZZZ

I think they need to ration the ammount of annoyingly bad singing on soaps, especially from Mary.

I didn't understand it. Coronation Street writers are always raking up the '70s. As somebody born the same year as Peter Barlow, I didn't understand him singing that '70s song the other week either. The '80s and early '90s were far more my era. The show reflects the writers' weird view of reality and is far divorced from real life.

Hilarious and wonderful. It's humour like this that keeps me watching Corrie.
