Yesterday, the cast and crew of Coronation Street celebrated William Roache's 80th birthday with a special cake presented to him on set. Here's a couple of photos, one of Mr. Roache with some cast members and a close up of the cake. Bill has been touring Canada recently but returned from his trip with the flu which turned into pneumonia. He was treated in hospital and recovered at home last week.
ITV have posted a video featuring the lives of Ken Barlow and some video messages from fellow cast members.
There's a bit more info, a few quotes and a few more recent photos from the paparazzi shot during filming of Rita and Dennis' wedding over here at the Daily Mail.

Great cake!
Is Frank set to reappear? :-)
Sure looks like "Frank Foster" between "Sean" and "Peter" -- who is that guy?
It is the actor who played Frank Foster. The photoshoot took place at ITV's This Morning interview with the cast as Andrew Lancel the actor who played Frank, is nominated in the Best Villain category at this weekend's British Soap Awards.
