Videos: Weatherfield as you've never seen it before

With thanks to our friends at Conversation Street for alerting us to this little gem.  It's a video, which I think might have been shot from a drone, as it flew over the Media City set of Coronation Street in Manchester.

Watching the video makes me wonder where the new street is going to be built, as there doesn't appear to be a lot of space left to build on.  You can find out more about the new street and the set expansion, including a new police station - it's all here.

The person who filmed the aerial views of the Corrie set, above, also has a YouTube video of the abandoned Coronation Street old set which is rather spooky. The person with the camera, whoever it is, walks around inside the houses and it's very eerie indeed. You can watch it below:

Thanks for sharing....this is awesome.
Very sad to see the video of the street/set that was left in ruins.
As was proven by the selling of the tiles for the Manchester bombing...a lot of items could still be sold to raise funds for charity. What a waste.

Don't think a drone shot that footage....never knew drones could open doors! Was also difficult to understand where we were on the set. Voice over would have been nice.

Rona, to clarify, I said that the drone was in the first video. The second video has no voice over as it was filmed by someone who would have wanted to remain silent, given the conditions of filming without being noticed.

I figured that it was undercover taping...which made me appreciate it all the more. How else would we get a glimpse. Thanks to whoever did it! And Flaming Nora...your description was clear to me. :-)
