Earlier this year, Andy Whyment who plays Coronation Street's Kirk Sutherland, took time off from the cobbles for a bit of skating on ice. And this year, Samia Smith, who plays Kirk's on-screen sister Maria Connor, is set to join the ranks of skating celebrities.

So presumably Maria leaves the Street with Marcus. Guess only Maria will return from London(?) after the relationship fails.
Or Maria goes to Spain to see her parents or maybe she will still be filming corrie whist apparing on DOI!

Charlie Condou isn't leaving corrie neither is samia!
There's no suggestion that Maria will be leaving Corrie, although I suppose her commitment to DoI will mean we don't see her as much as at present so it'll be interesting to see what'll happen to the storyline of her and Marcus.
When Andy Whyment was on DOI, Kirk wasn't written out. Andy might have just done some scenes in one go and they were distributed in various episodes over a period of time. Probably the same will be done with Maria. Or she'll be said to have gone to Cyprus or Ireland to visit Liam's grandparents.
Oh Samia, put your skirt down, gal. Why do these beautiful, otherwise lovely actresses always stand about with the skirts up or their boobs out? Good heavens.
