I've arrived very late to the party, but have finally begun watching Peaky Blinders right from the first episode. I'm currently watching Series 3 and absolutely loving it! And I've noticed a few similarities between characters on Coronation Street and those in Birmingham. Let's take a little look and see if you agree.
Tommy Shelby and Peter Barlow. Both alpha males who enjoy a drink and smoke and look sharp in a flat cap.
Arthur Shelby and Gary Windass. Both ex-army men who aren't strangers to handling a gun and going off the rails.
John Shelby and David Platt. Both young lads desperate to make their own mark, having to be kept in check by their older brother. Plus with David's a job as a barber, he'll never be short of a razor blade or two.
Polly Gray and Carla Connor. Both business women with their heads screwed on the right way - most of the time. Looking after the family business.
Michael Gray and Nick Tilsley. Both very, er, creative accountants.
Esme Shelby and Tracy Barlow. Both wild women with a very wicked streak.
Can you think of any more I could add to this blog post?
