With thanks to Glenn via Twitter for this lovely little blog post.
Paula Lane may have left Corrie in a dramatic storyline a few years back, but since then she has found a new home on stage, starring in a hugely successful UK tour of the hit musical Kinky Boots, earning great reviews and she also featured in the cast of Be More Martyn about the late and great Corrie fan, Martyn Hett at the Hope Mill Theatre in Manchester.
She returns there later this month to star in Vignettes, an evening of six short plays by women. There is another cobbles connection, as Vignettes is produced by Hannah Ellis Ryan who played Jim MacDonald’s scheming girlfriend Hannah, who attempted to fool our Liz.
Vignettes writers include Corrie's Jan McVerry and Ellen Taylor.
If you were left seething at the recent lack of female directors in the shortlist for the recent Oscar and Bafta nominations and you want to be part of something special, the producers of Vignettes need your help. They are currently crowdfunding to keep these plays on the stage, as their recent application to ACE did not bear any fruit.
If you want to see Paula Lane on stage and want to help out, you can get a signed poster for your troubles if you donate some money and book a ticket.
Vignettes is at the Hope Mill Theatre from 3 – 6 February
