Coronation Street Episode Review; Weds 5th of Sept 7.30pm

Welcome to Wednesday's edition of the Coronation Street Blog and the first of tonights two episode reviews...

'You never know what goes on behind the scenes' says Gina Sneddon who's presence was ominous, during tonight's episode. One of my favourite characters (we share a personality trait), the newly single Gina is now forefront, having departed from Dev, and is immediately upsetting Sally. Her husband Tim is supportive of Gina living with them and lavishing Jack with her support, certainly cheers up Kevin.

Like I say, it is ominous. As tonight is full of little revelations!.

Today is Jackie's will reading. Unbeknown to Ty and Fiz, the other beneficiary is Ty's long-absent father. Leaving his Dad a ring, Jackie leaves her son an apologetic VHS video message. Following Roys failing video recorder (you knew he'd have one), Fiz calls Ty's Dad to Coronation Street, in hope of discovering the secret. Unfortunately for Tyrone, that's not his Dad. Even worse, Jackie wasn't even his mother either!.  Which isn't a problem Sophie has, as her mothers meddling throws up surprising repercussions...

Sally's lesbian cupid game may well have failed to match Sophie with Paula's daughter Isla, but Sophie has definitely caught Paula's eye. Using a travel book as a rue to visit Sophie, Paula makes her intentions perfectly clear...

Across the street, Dev struggles with cashless at the corner shop, and David struggles with cash- altogether!. It seems Max and Adi have an online football game going on and have emptied their respective Fathers credit card accounts!.

In other news-Billy is rubbish at lying, whilst Jude, on the other hand, continues to revel in his.

Anyway, that's me for another week.

I hope you've enjoyed my mid-week paean to the drama of Coronation Street.

I'm @rybazoxo your self-styled 'Cobbles Connoisseur'.

TARA!

Has the Visa product placement deal ended? I thought it was odd that Dev was allowed to criticise card payments and the usually prominent Visa signs were absent in the shop. I wonder if any cast members had an anti-chocolate rant after the Cadbury’s sponsorship deal ended, and can we look forward to an insurance scam plotline once the Compare-the-market deal ends?

Gina 'Sneddon' made me smirk. It is in fact Seddon.😀

This was actually in the 8.30 episode, but how did Paula manage to text Sophie during dinner? They'd only met a couple of hours earlier and we didn't see them exchange mobile numbers.

Thanks for a fun write-up, Ryan! Odd episode in some ways. Dev's kids sure have him firmly under their thumbs, don't they? What would Mary say? Poor Sally. That scene in the Bistro was truly cringe-inducing. Do people with gay children really talk that way? "Oh, you have a lesbian daughter too! Stop yours from going on a trip of a lifetime, and make her stay here and date my lesbian daughter!"

Dev is tall, so that’s no biggie. At 12, I was taller than my mom and all my teachers and looked about 15; the only thing that said kid was my braces. I think Summer is supposed to be 1 year younger than Amy, but she looks 2 or 3. We’re all different and quite perfect as we are.
