Coronation Street Spoiler: Liz comforts distraught Johnny
The spoilers are in for next week’s Coronation Street and Johnny Connor finds comfort in the arms of Liz McDonald as he struggles to cope with Aidan’s suicide.
Spotting Johnny needs a shoulder to cry on Liz invites him into the back room at the Rovers. Johnny breaks down telling Liz how Jenny’s getting on his nerves and he hates himself for failing his own son. Liz holds him comfortingly in her arms.
Back at home, Johnny loses it with Jenny and hurls his glass at the wall. As their row escalates Jenny accuses him of wallowing in grief and Johnny storms out to spend the night on Liz’s sofa.

Jenny is going to accuse someone, anyone, of wallowing in grief!?! You have got to be kidding. After going off on the deep end with Kevin's son years ago the way she did, you'd think she'd be the last person not to understand Johnny. Well, if this breaks them up, great, because I always thought he and Liz would be a better match.
I agree Maricha. I cannot believe that anyone could accuse anyone of wallowing in grief five minutes after such s heavy loss. Particularly after explaining to Johnny how bereft she, Jenny, still was over the loss of her child. Are the script writers trying to show how selfish Jenny is or, again, highlight how little anyone points out total hypocrisy.
Agree, as Jenny lost a child, she should understand more than anyone what Johnny is going through.
Jenny can be selfish, but she does seem to genuinely care for Johnny. I am really surprised by this, and hope it doesn't end with Johnny getting together with Liz, because I think Johnny and Jenny work quite well together. Not interested in seeing Jim thump a man with MS when he gets back to town, which is exactly where that storyline would end up. Ugh.
I will also give Jenny the benefit of the doubt and believe due to her grief over her own son and grieving over Aidan she does care and genuinely wants to help her husband.
If the writers have Liz and Johnny have an affair over this then it totally undermines the importance of Aidan's suicide.I think it will cheapen it.
Totally agree that this resulting in an affair storyline would cheapen it. I think they could do so much better. There is a lot more drama to be had in characters talking about and working out their feelings than there is in just leaping into bed with the etong person.
Sorry, "wrong" person
