The Corrie copper currently investigating Callum's murder in Corrie is a character called D S Kerr. She's played by actress Emily Woof who starred in the film The Full Monty alongside Corrie's Steve Huison, who played Eddie Windass.
Emily Woof was born in 1967 in Newcastle on Tyne, England. She is an actress, writer and director, known for acting in The Full Monty (1997), Velvet Goldmine (1998) and Photographing Fairies (1997).
She has written a novel called The Lightning Tree. And there's a beautiful interview from 2015 with Emily in The Guardian here.
