Carla starts thieving from Underworld on Coronation Street

Carla is set to reach even dafter depths than you think she's capable of. Yes, I do sound grumpy because I am.  Carla Connor was never one of my favourite characters. But by 'eck, she had balls, back in the day. Get them out of your handbag now, Carla, they're needed!

Anyway, where was I? Oh yes, back to the storyline.  Carla is going to nick £10,000 from Underworld.  The money will be given to Tracy to help Robert reach his £100,000 target to pay Nick for his share of the Bistro.

However, all is in vain.  Because, we've already revealed that there's a third bidder who comes in for the Bistro. Not only do they have the money but it also comes from a very unlikely source!  Read it here.

Daft is exactly what it is. Someone wake me up when the real Carla Connor shows up.

So completely stupid because we all know that none of this would be happening if Alison King was staying.

I'm with you Anon 11:45 - I just can't get over how the writers are changing everyone's character at the drop of a hat. Carla went to great lengths to make sure Tracy & Tony didn't get the pub, now she is doing all that she can to make sure Tracy gets the Bistro. Extremely far-fetched.

It's not like she hadn't done so before - remember the gambling addiction storyline? Hence the reason the rest of the Connor clan tumbled in.
But I agree with the comments above. I'm disgusted with the route the writers are taking with her. She used to be made of steel!

Not surprised Alison King wants to leave, after all she has contributed to the programme and this is the best they can do?

Dreadful, I can't wait for Carla to be gone now, which is a shame because I've liked most of her storylines even if I haven't always liked her. But after her departure, we have Nick's angst and torment to look forward to, as he is sure to find out the truth isn't he? (btw who did think that Ben Price would make a good Nick, he's a good 10 years too old for a start!)

Another good character ruined so we'll all be happy to see them go. Tina, Becky, Graeme, even Dennis, each were made horrible in their last months. Its sad that this is happening to Carla, a flawed but strong heroine for so many years.

Carla wasn't my favourite character because her storylines were so over the top but she grew on me due to Alison King's great talent. Even AK can't do much with this ridiculously unbelievable exit story. It would have been far better to have Carla fall out with her half-siblings with them plotting against her. Having sold the factory to the Connors or whoever, Carla could have been ready to fly to America with Nick until he got cold feet. Bringing Tracy into this story makes it even sillier. Btw, add Peter Barlow to abbyk's list of ruined characters.

Well now we know what really prompted Alison King to go from taking a leave to quitting. Horrible story lines and decimating her character seems like a good reason to me. What a shame.

All you have to do is look back at all the actors that were mentioned and how the writers ruined their characters until we were glad to see them go - if you look carefully you will see that it was the actors who decided to leave, it wasn't Corrie pushing them out the door - I think it's retaliation for the actors to dare even think that they have a choice to stay or to leave. Talk about vindictive and revenge.

Enough already! What a cheesy wet firecracker of a storyline for our Carla.

Add Sunita to that list of beloved characters who were debased before being written out. Her affair with Karl was tawdry and beneath her.

I hate the way they've portrayed Carla recently. She was always a strong woman, and since it appears that Nick is far more besotted with Carla than she is with him, the character we have come to know over the years would have simply told him, and never, ever allow herself to be blackmailed by Tracy.

Once again whoever the producer is treating regular viewers with utter contempt, and I fear for what else he'll do with his seemingly "scorched earth" policy before leaving the show.

NO NO NO, this just isn't right! The writing for Carla is absolutely disgraceful, do they have any knowledge of the character at all?
