Coronation Street have been nominated for two awards by the Television and Radio Industries Club. The awards ceremony will take place on Tuesday 13th March in the Grosvenor House Hotel down in that London.
The nominations where Corrie is mentioned are as follows:
TV Soap Personality, sponsored by Samsung
Betty Driver (Coronation Street Betty Williams) A posthumous Award
TV Soap of the Year sponsored by Star Plus
Coronation Street is up against EastEnders and Emmerdale in this category.
Yeshpal Sharma, Vice President of Star Plus, Star UK & Europe commented, "We’re proud to be sponsoring this year’s TV Soap of the year category at this year’s TRIC awards. We wish all the nominees success."
And we all hope Coronation Street win and the posthumous award goes to Betty Driver, too.

How ridiculous. Betty Driver should either have been the sole nominee (like when the Brits have a Lifetime Achievement award) or she should not have been nominated at all.
Her competition is a bit of an insult too, in truth - is the best compliment they can pay the lady, that she is up there with the likes of Jo bloody Joyner??
