Red carpet arrival pictures from TRIC Awards

Coronation Street's Georgia Foote (Katy Armstrong) and Sam Aston (Chesney Battersby-Brown) are pictured below on the red carpet as they made their way into the Television and Radio Industry Club Awards today in London.

Betty Driver was given a posthumous award for Soap Personality.

Fab TV Journalist Ian Wylie attended the awards luncheon and wrote on twitter aftrrwards: "Thought @itvcorrie actor Philip Lowrie (Dennis Tanner) paid a very fitting tribute to Betty Driver at the TRIC Awards."

Betty Driver given posthumous award

Betty Driver has today been honoured with a posthumous award by the Television and Radio Industries Club.  The awards ceremony was held today in the Grosvenor House Hotel in London.

The Coronation Street actress, who played Betty Wiliams, was given the posthumous TV Soap Personality award, sponsored by Samsung.

Sadly, Coronation Street lost out to EastEnders in the award for TV Soap of the Year.

Corrie nominated for two TRIC Awards

Coronation Street have been nominated for two awards by the Television and Radio Industries Club.  The awards ceremony will take place on Tuesday 13th March in the Grosvenor House Hotel down in that London.

The nominations where Corrie is mentioned are as follows:

TV Soap Personality, sponsored by Samsung
Betty Driver (Coronation Street Betty Williams) A posthumous Award

TV Soap of the Year sponsored by Star Plus
Coronation Street is up against EastEnders and Emmerdale in this category.

And we all hope Coronation Street win and the posthumous award goes to Betty Driver, too.
