Exposed: The mystery of the Coronation Street chef

If, like me, you've been wondering who the chef is in Nick's Bistro, then wonder no more. The best kept secret in Coronation Street has been outed on twitter. Well, sort of.

In a spoof tweet, Corrie photographer Rob Evans said: "Great new character enters #corrie in role of the bistro chef..." and the man he refers to is Skip Newton.  Skip appeared very briefly in Corrie in the picture below just the other day as we caught a glimpse of Nick's Bistro chef through a gap in the kitchen door.

And here he is with the actors who play Nick and Lewis.  Let's hope we see more of him, and soon!

Did anyone notice in the scene yesterday at The Bistro when St Ella was carrying the idiotic Sunita out, a black guy was standing behind the bar watching them in bemusement? I reckon he is the new chef and should be introduced as a proper character instead of all this merry go round nonsense with Steve and Tracy Borelow.

Yeah, I caught a fleeting glimpse of him and had to rewind to confirm. Came to the conclusion by his dress code he was either a barman or waiter.

Can't understand it - extras in the background as part of Owen's work crew and no one turns a hair. Extras in the background as part of Nick's Bistro staff and we're all nosing: "Who's that?"

If you're an extra on Corrie and angling for a more permanent role your course of action is clear:

Bend down to tie a shoelace or something when they're offering parts as extras working for Owen

- but elbow/fight/kill your way to the front when parts as extras are on offer for working at Nick's Bistro.

Why we should all be curious about the extras at the Bistro and not at Owen's will have to remain one of life's little mysteries.

The new man in the bistro bar was very good looking, which is why I noticed him. More please!
