Corrie blast from the past

In last night's episodes, Beth told Eileen about the one date she had with Steve in October 2000 when he took her to a film (Billy Elliott) and was all over her. I wonder if this is rewriting history somewhat?

Looking back, that was only a month or so after Steve was beaten nearly to death by Jez Quigley in September 2000.

The month of October was mainly taken up with Liz returning and Jim turning himself in for manslaughter charges. Odd he'd have the time or strength to go out on dates but one thing is true, that was about the time when the movie Billy Elliott was first out. I saw it myself in London in September 2000.

See a character study of Steve here.

Clearly, Steve had received a serious bump on the noggin' and that led to his misconception of how hot Beth was and his released inhibitions at the movie theatre. After an emasculating attack, what red blooded bloke wouldn't go out on the pull? (jk) ;)

In all fairness Beth could have been a cracker a decade ago! Look at the photo of Steve then, quite handsome, compared to the overweight twerp now!! We all change in a decade you know!
