Yay or Nay: Will you miss Becky McDonald?

Becky's going to be leaving Coronation Street very, very soon after exposing Tracy's lies and ruining her big, fat McBarlow wedding to Steve.

But what do you think about the way Becky's being written out of Corrie and more importantly, will you miss her?

Yay or Nay? Have you say!

NAY: Its time for her to go and her leaving seems dragged out somewhat. Katherine Kelly is a great actress and has made Becky her own. Did extremely well as Becky was just brought in as an ex jailbird friend of Kelly's living on the Streets. However, not wishing to sound like a broken record but she was ruined when put with Steve, a most unlikely coupling and one that had no screen chemistry at all. Then ruined with the Maxay business. However, she is a character that will always be remembered. I wouldnt want to see her back, but with Katherine's acting skills and Shakespearean training, I doubt if she will need to.

I'll totally miss her.

Katherine Kelly is an amazing actress and I loved the character.

I like the way they are writing her out, like she might get some happiness now.

Yay.
I'll miss her loads. She's a wonderful actress and a little firecracker on screen.

Yes, I'll definately miss her.Katherine Kelly is a brilliant actress, who portrayed her character in such a way, that you now want Becky to have her happy ending.I know the writing has helped, but the way Becky developed has I feel been down to Katherine, who is definately one of the best actresses on the Street. I for one would love to see her back on Corrie

YES: I adore Becky and even Becky and Steve, i'm sad that they won't work out, but I'm happy that Becky is putting Tracy in her place before she leaves. Hopefully Steve realises that he made a huge mistake letting Becky leave and I hope that Steve and Tracy don't get back together EVER! All Tracy deserves is to go back to jail, homewreckers never prosper.

I'll miss Becky most definitely. There may have been some ill advised storylines but they've always stayed true to Becky's character, someone who never quite believed she was good enough. Katherine Kelly is an amazing actor and sparked with everyone she was on screen with.

Nay then Yay then Nay and now Yay again. They ruined this character completely when they went all EE with her. The topper was the smash up with the sledge hammer at the Barlows...first rate Phil Mitchell right there. But I will miss her for sure.

I'll definitely miss her and the chemistry between her & Roy and now Roy's Mum. Lovely scenes last night.

I'll miss her, but am glad also that she'll leave on a positive note, with a fresh start and the promise of happiness.

However for someone who'll never feel that she's 'good enough' the violence and the self-destructive scenes written for Becky leave me with the feeling that Becky's happiness will always be fleeting, and destined to be sabotaged by her own personality.

Yay and nay. Becky was intiially a fantastic character, but the scriptwriters made a mistake by having her with Steve. That said I will miss her complexity and it's nice that she is being given a happy exit- something very rare in soaps!!!

Yay: On the whole, Becky's a watchable character, although as others have said, she was given stupid stories that even Katherine Kelly couldn't make convincing.

Haven't the writers known about her departure for nearly a year? So why is she about to go half way around the world with a man she barely knows? This rushed and implausible storyline is the exit Collinson thinks she deserves?

I hope Becky's departure means that lessons about wasting assets will be learnt, but I doubt it.

Yay: except for the extended drinking binge that was her relationship with Steve, Becky has been a very interesting character, and Katherine Kelly is a compelling actor. Becky has stayed true to herself, but has grown as a person. Her relations with the Croppers remains a strong family unit, and even though she lost Maxie, she finally gained a sister and a second family with the Platt McIntyres. Can't wait to see the triumph of her street smarts over Tracy, and hopes she sends lots of postcards from Barbados and comes home for visits.

Yay, I like Becky and I hope that setting off to the susnet will be her exit because she deserves some happiness. Her relationship with Steve was a let down but her chemistry with Roy, Hayley, Sylvia and many other characters have been wonderful.

Yay, definitely, yay! I've always been a big fan of Katherine Kelly and am confident she will be going on to many more great things. Yes, there was the disastrous 'middle period' of the marriage to Steve, when the writers seriously let her down, but she's back to the character I fell in love with now; tough, yet achingly vulnerable; streetwise, loving, playful and ferociously loyal. She may have only spent six years on the show but those of us who have been on Becky's journey with her, will never forget her. Best of luck to Kat!

A great big YAY! - love the character of Becky and so glad she is seemingly getting some happiness at last. Fab actor - will miss her scenes with Roy, Hayley and Sylvia - a compelling and delightful unit. Hurrah for wrecking Tracy and Steve's day - they both deserved it. Come back soon Becky....will miss you.

On balance, a big YAY! Like everyone else, I admire the actor more than the character which got absolutely ruined. A great cheer will go up when Becky finally wipes the smile off Tracy's face. I do hope Kylie gets Skype so we can hear how she's getting on in Barbados.

Goodbye Becky. We'll really nmiss you. Thanks for the pleasurable evenings we've had with you in Ontario.

In summary then, competent actress, incompetent storylines.

Same old same old, then?

Yay! She had great scenes with Royston and Sylvia

I liked her at the outset, but then that whole stealing money to buy Max really turned me off her character. She actually became downright obnoxious.

Lately, she's reverted to quite a nice person, so I'm sorry to see her go. HOWEVER, I'll be delighted is she screws things up for Tracy before she goes; and I'm thrilled she's departing with a super nice guy.

Shanny said: YES! I will miss Becky!!!!!!!! She is my most favourite character on the show. At least if she goes away to Barbados then she can come back. At least the writers aren't killing her off. :)

I will absolutely miss Becky. Her relationship with Steve (my other long time favourite character) reminds me sooo much of mine own with my husband. We're that much alike. I just love her and the show won't be the same for me for quite a while I imagine.

Yay from me too. Always loved Becky, even at her lowest. I think she has a chance to grow up now and enjoy life. If nothing else, not having Tracy around should make that a lot easier!

Loved her character. Funny, vulnerable always good to see her on screen. Lets hope she finds happiness at last and good on her for bringing Tracey down at last!!

She was the best character on the street and well played the street is not going to be same without her . We now need some strong characters to come in and get corrie back to how it use to be instead of turning into a American soap these are everyday people normal people don't fall in bed witH the neighbors

yes i will definitely miss her, she was the best for an amazing cat fight and a great actress.
Who wouldn't miss her?
I do hope that she will come back!

Hopefully she makes a great return and it will go back to the good old times when Becky was the girl getting drunk, having cat fights, getting done by the police and of cause her relationships with all the hot badboys.

Good luck Becky but by time you get back all you'll have left is Karl.
