There's a Canadian travel agent based out of Halifax, Nova Scotia called Coronation Travel and they've offered tours in England over the past few years featuring a stop in Manchester and a visit to the ITV Granada Studios to see the Corrie set. This year's tour starts on April 20 and runs to May 1. You can purchase the tour with air included or just the land portion only. They also offer travel insurance.
This year's itinerary is available here. The highlight for all Corrie fans, of course, is the visit to the set, both inside the studio and on the outside set and there's a tour of locations in the area that have been used for filming hosted by local Corrie expert (and fellow blogger!) Mark Llewellin. I've taken that tour and it's really good. Mark really knows his stuff.
The tour is hosted by Halifax local florist Neville MacKay and trust me on this, he will be loads of fun. He's a massive Corrie fan and does hosting duties here in Halifax when Corrie stars some to visit.
Total cost of the tour with air included is $3795CA + air taxes and fees. The land-only fee is $3095CA (Approximately £2000). No reason why non-Canadians couldn't join the tour, too! Contact Kim Morriscey at Coronation Travel.

here we go again the canadians get to tour the set what about mark setting up tours for us fans here in the uk to get a tour around so so unjust !!
No reason you can't contact the agent and go on the tour, as well. It's not restricted to Canadians only. Mark does locations tours all the time in Manchester.
I agree with Anonymous to be honest, Not that I have anything against Canadians getting onto the tour - that's great! But for UK fans, we never ever get the chance to do this unless you know someone...
Mark Llewllin's tours are great but they don't go onto the set and neither do other Corrie tours in Manchester, although you do get to see other Corrie landmarks.
I don't know why UK fans don't have the chance to visit the set in organised groups the way that overseas fans do. It's always struck me as somewhat unfair.
OK, we could join the tour, but tbh I wouldn't have a lot of interest in the other 10 days or so of the trip.
The party line in the UK is that the studios are no longer open to the public. So, as Flaming Nora said, it just seems unfair
Maybe it just takes a travel agent to talk to the studio and organize it. Originally there was only one tour out of Canada, one in the fall. Now this one is one other time and she managed to work it out. I don't know how or how long it took. I presume that if a travel agent or organizer did manage it, it would only be perhaps once in the year.
I'm sorry, why are we whining that a Canadian tour agent organized a tour? If you're that bothered about it, organize something yourself with a local agent. No reason to moan at the Candian company because someone there bothered to sort it.
I'm not whining that a Canadian tour agent organised a tour. As I said in my comment, it's great for Canadian fans. And as I'm not a tour operator or a travel agent it would be impossible for me to organise something myself with a local agent. I'm not moaning at the Canadian company because someone there bothered to sort it. If you read my comment I didn't moan about that at all. I just said it was unfair to UK fans that we have never had the chance to visit the Set since it closed to the public and it would be great for fans to do so.
It is too bad that Granada couldn't have left the set open one day or even one afternoon a week. Surely they could have organized their filming schedule. Maybe the museum will take posession of the outside set once they move to Salford and open that to people. It would be a little piece of history.
well im with you flaming nora and i am the original anonymous poster i really would love to go and i really do think that people on here should try and organise a trip as i know there would be many on here would love that dream to happen im just not paying 2 thousand pound to visit a country i was bread and born in to visit the set !!!! mark should pull his finger out and make say two uk resident trips to the set per year anyone who knows mark put this to him he could rake a fortune !!
i would just love to know what strings these tour operators are pulling to get not only onto the set but also the interior studio as well surely tvor if that was the case of a tour company contacting granada/itv there would be a company offering a tour but no one does ??? mark sort it you go to the set you have the contacts make it happen !!
