When Vicky Jeffries first appeared on Coronation Street as a loud-mouthed nasty piece of work in the knicker factory, I didn't like her one bit. I think that was the point. But now we're seeing a different side to her, a warmer side, offering the nettle leaf recipe for morning sickness to Amy, taking an interest in Amy's baby, her grandchild.
But what's become even better than the softening of Vicky in the show is the relationship between Vicky and Tracy. They're at odds right now, two mothers protecting their children - and it's Corrie gold. But I hope - and think they will - become friends in the future, and in the way of soaps anything is possible, such as Vicky having an affair with Steve and breaking Tracy's heart all over again.
But that's just me thinking out loud.
Tracy and Vicky are both being very protective of their kids and rightly so. Vicky wants the best for Tyler, and Tracy's maternal streak, hidden for many years, is finally surfacing towards Amy. Tracy and Amy are the new Eileen and Gail in a "Your son isn't good enough for my daughter," kind of way - where have we heard that before? Yup, Gail yelling at Eileen about Todd and Sarah and Jason and Sarah too.
It can't be too long before Tracy and Vicky are rolling around on the cobbles in their dressing gowns fighting to protect the reputation of their offspring. And I, for one, can't wait.

I adore Tracy but I can't stand Vicky. I have a feeling that this horrible Amy pregnancy plot was just created to get Vicky back on the show. I hope Vicky and Tyler leave again soon, they are both terrible. Tracy, Amy and Steve are brilliant and the actors deserve a better story line than the same tired underage pregnancy.
