Coronation Street have now confirmed that Kym Marsh is to take a break from her role as Michelle Connor later this year. She is not leaving for good, as reported yesterday.
And she will appear on screen until the end of this year.
Kym joined the cast in 2006 and has been at the centre of some of the show’s biggest storylines during her 13 years on the cobbles.
Kym Marsh said: "When I was lucky enough to be offered four episodes on Coronation Street I could never in my wildest dreams have thought I’d be here thirteen years later.
“It’s been an incredibly difficult decision but it feels like the right time for me to take a break from the show and explore some other roles.
“But this isn’t the last you’ve heard of Michelle Connor, she’ll be back! I can’t wait to see what the writers have in store for the future.”
It sounds very much like the time when Alison King took her break from her role as Carla Connor. We always knew she would come back and it seems to be same for Kym Marsh too. I know a lot of fans aren't keen on Michelle Connor but I enjoy watching her a lot.
