There's a great interview with Sally Ann Matthews, who plays Jenny Bradley on Coronation Street, in this week's Inside Soap magazine.
She says that she doesn't want Jenny to be happy as that would make her very dull Asked if she thinks Jenny could end up being the next Mrs Connor by marrying Johnny, she says: "If she were the new Mrs Connor and lived happily ever after I think that would be very dull! Whatever Jenny's situation she'll always take revenge on those who have given her a hard time. She could be a cleaner from now until Christendom and she'd still be having a dig!"
Sally Ann also reveals that if she wasn't an actress she'd want to be a professional whale watcher! She says that everything she learned about acting she learned from Barbara Knox (Rita) and Thelma Barlow (Mavis) as well as from Mark Eden, who played Alan Bradley and is the real-life husband of Sue Nicholls (Audrey).

Nah, leave all the "revenge" to Tracy, we don't need another nasty character. You're doing fine as you are!
One of the shining stars of the programme, for sure. So glad she's back.
Why would it be dull being happy? A lot of actors say they like being the bad guy, is this because it's easier to act? It takes a bit more subtlety to be a nice character they aren't always boring, take Roy for example.
To be likeable over the long haul of a soap the actor needs to be genuinely likeable. The actor who played Hayley for example could not have carried it off for so long unless she was able to draw from her own personality. Just saying.
Nice theory, but I know quite a few actors with loveable public personas who are not terribly nice in real life. Acting is pretending; simple as that!
I find jenny extremely dull and i loathe watching her on screen. Id be glad if they killed her off
I very much enjoy Jenny's on screen time. She and Johnny work well together. If she became Johnny's partner/wife, that would be great as it would really annoy Sally.
