Production Maintenance Electrician – Coronation Street
Coronation
Street delivers in excess of 262 episodes a year, has been running for
55 years and holds, without doubt, a truly special place in TV. Our
crews work 50 weeks of the year, enabling delivery and transmission 52
weeks of the year.
We have a position within our lighting
department to assist and support our Production Gaffer ensuring that all
Coronation Street lighting infrastructure are properly maintained and
tested in an efficient and cost effective manner. The role will assist
in training of our junior staff, apprentices, other crew, both staff and
freelance and ensuring health and safety requirements are met at all
times.
We will look to you to assist our Production Gaffer
provide a communication link between the Production Office, Technical
Managers and the Production Lighting Department as well as other
departments in all aspects relating to lighting, electrical, safety
concerns, and any health and safety issues. You will help manage,
maintain and test all in house lighting equipment when required,
including Pat testing, and supervise and oversee set rigs and derigs.
You
will attend meetings regarding any new sets, locations, projects, and
recces to assist and advise on obtaining the best use of time and
resources, obtain lighting plots, organise scaffolding, equipment,
delivery and pick up, overseeing checking in and out of hired equipment,
ensuring timely turnaround. You will be required to cover for our
Production Gaffer during holiday and when required.
As our
Production Maintenance Electrician you will help oversee regular
consumables checks, filters, lamps, clips, and reorder when necessary
within the budget, oversee regular practical checks, plugs, fuses, cable
and reorder when necessary within the budget.
You must be a
fully Qualified Electrician with in depth knowledge of the television
industry and a City and Guilds 17th Edition certification with knowledge
of Electrical and Health and Safety Regulations. LGV driving licence is
advantageous
