There's a story in today's Sun that says Tina McIntyre will be killed off in Coronation Street.
Is it true? Who knows?
Update: Digital Spy have now spoken to ITV who say that a final decision has yet to be made over Tina's fate.
The representative said: "'Michelle will be on screen until early summer 2014 and many ideas for Tina's departure are currently being discussed - nothing has been finalised."
Mr Curry Sauce tells The Sun: "They’ve been weighing up whether to kill Tina off and now believe it’s the way to get maximum ratings. It will set up a cliffhanger leaving viewers guessing who killed her.
"But Michelle’s fans will be devastated as it means Tina will never be able to return."

If it's true, and I do take some of these with a pinch of salt, please let it be Tracy.... who will be caught pretty quickly, tried and then given a life sentence with no chance of parole. The murder of Charlie Stubbs will strengthen the conviction against her when they look into it again especially if it's the same M.O.(I can dream!)
What is the point for Tina's presemmce until Summer next year. She should go now instead of fighting with and shouting at half the street. She is becoming one dimensoinal and frankly boring.
Perhaps Tina just shouts at herself in a mirror for half an hour and dies of boredom?
The Tina 'going rogue' is just the lead in to who does her in. My $$ is on Rita, who finally makes her moves on Tina, only to be rejected and bashes her in the head with her teapot. Just kidding - it's probably Tim, as we all know, the cops will ignore the evidence staring them right in the face and bang up some innocent person getting banged up
My immediate reaction was aloud NOoooo! I like Tina, and the actress is very good. I would go with David being the killer, if it comes to this, something to do with Tina's knowledge that David engineered the car crash with Nick that left him so badly injured and comatose. Its really believable that David would get even with Tina by killing her. They have an interesting adversarial relationship. It's a few months away, though and a lot can happen on Corrie!
Maybe Carla? After Peter has his fling with Tina?
I can't see them deciding now but if it's true, I'm with the first commenter here, please let it be a way of writing out Tracy Barlow!!! I can't see it being anyone else, no matter who hates her.
If it were to be murder, then let it be Tracy. An accidental death might be more interesting. A few possibilities:
- a driving accident by Roy or Rita, and either of them dealing with guilt
- an auto failure when Tina was driving, and Ty's regret
- something to do with Gary & Izzy's baby
- stopping David from doing something really stupid; she's his only friend
I'm a Tina fan and hope she gets to leave with the doors open, but if she has to die, then at least make it a good story so she is not forgotten.
I thought the actress had asked that they don't kill her off as she wants to leave the door open for one day down the road. I could be wrong. It would be a good idea for her. A lot of people leave on a high and can't find enough work. Didn't Tina O'Brien complain of that after she left?
However, it does seem to be going the way of having her killed off. All of a sudden she's fighting with everyone. First Kylie, now Tracy, then I'm sure Carla will have a go if she does cheat with Peter.
However, if it's going to be murder I can't see it being a big name character because then that person would have to leave to (would they really let a murderer get away with it and live on the Street for the rest of their time?). I also put my vote in for Tracy.
If this is true, then David will end up being blamed and tried for murder, and absolutely nobody will believe that he didn't do it.
Not long beforehand, it'll come out that Tina was the one who told Nick about David and sent the whole ball rolling... which led to him losing everything. And he'll threaten her publicly and not long after she'll be dead.
As for the real killer and the reason why... no idea. It won't be Tracy because I think she wouldn't be stupid enough to do it again, or any other main character (no matter how hyped up the suspects list was, like with Frank). No, it'll be someone like Tim or something, as said above.
But ugh, not another wrongfully accused story-line that drags on for months...
Didn't SB say he wasn't going for sensationalist stories? Well, so much for that promise. I hope it's Tracy. Maybe she causes Tina's death accidentally - a push and a shove during a row - and goes down for manslaughter because of her previous record. Or perhaps we haven't met her killer yet as there's a long way to go or it could be the loan shark.
Get a new ending, bring her old boyfriend back, the one who walked off with the friend, she falls back in love with him, and they start their life over someplace else besides Weatherfield. I liked him and they were a good couple together. Everybody doesn't need to die, or be killed, i.e. Becky can return gives some hope.
They can't kill her off.. She has to come back as the behbee's real mom (tommy's the dad, but he'll never know now). We all know that she slept with tommy just before becoming pregnant and no one has done any testing. Lil' what's hisname will need some body part and tada, back comes our Tina!.. do not kill her. It's so cheap, especially for ratings. C'mon
I predict she'll die in a raging inferno, when a huge vat of spray-tanning product catches fire. Although burnt to a crisp, viewers will be hard pressed to see any difference to her usual skin colour.
And she won't be at all happy, so no change there then.
ROTFLMAO -- Clinkers and John McE best comments!! I won't miss her, actually thought when I read the news it'll soon be like Tina never happened. I find it odd that official Corrie commented on the rumour!
KIrsty might escape from wherever and finish the job. Ditto the loan shark who hounded Joe to his death.Best would be if she dies from internal hemorrhaging as a result of the surrogacy. It would expose the selfishness of those who rent others' wombs.
After all the hullabaloo on the Street including Tina, she may as well go out in a dramatic death fashion. All this throwing rocks through Tracy's storefront just has the markings of a violent ending. Pray all that Tina is the one who finally takes Tracy off our screens (even if she has to die in order to do it).
I also hope Tracy Barlow is the killer. I really can't stand her as a character. She's so shallow and she's nasty just for the sake of being nasty--not a well portrayed villain at all. I want her gone forever.
dont kill off tina have her kill tracey in self defence so she can come back tina was getting a bit stale but the peter barlow story is genius omg peters face when he finds out rob kissed tina
