Should Nick and Kylie get together?

The Platt McIntyre Tilsley family are in crisis. Again. They have been rocked, shocked and blown apart by explosive revelations. Again. Gail flutters her eyelashes in shock that one of her offspring could behave like the devil in dodgy t-shirts. Again. It must be Martin Platt's DNA, because it could never be Gail's fault.

Ah yes, Platt Towers has been rocked to its very core for the umteenth time this side of the new millennium. I still care enough about some of the characters to be involved, but really, how many more times can David go on the rampage?

It's all getting a bit tiresome and to be honest, losing its ability to shock. I don't necessary want Coronation Street to shock me anyway. Real life does that enough, thank you very much.

I do absolutely adore Kylie. I prefer her to her sister Becky. Paula Lane is a great actress who will obviously go far. We should make the most of her while she is attached to Corrie. And Kylie, despite being a former cage dancer who sold her son to her sister, is far too good for David. I hope they don't kill Tina off when she leaves - instead let's send Tina and David off together.

I think Kylie should get together with Nick. Gail's golden boy. Ben Price is a far better reincarnation of Nick than Adam whatshisface ever was. I did have my doubts to begin with as the actor is in his early forties, playing a character in his early thirties, however he has grown on me and I rather like the direction Nick is heading in. I also think Nick would be better off without the shrewish, unpleasant Leanne. Leanne has always been a great character. She is one of those Corrie characters who has many different facets and seems to keep regenerating. Corrie are really lucky to have held onto Jane Danson for so long, but please, reinvigorate this character soon!

So, yes, I guess I'm suggesting the powers that be should split Nick and Leanne up for good and move Kylie, Max and baby Lily into that strange posh apartment building positioned rather glamorously between Owen's builders yard and Chesney's market stall.

So what do you think? Would you like to see Nick and Kylie get it together? Has David served his purpose? What should the writers do to cheer up Leanne?

I would like to see Nick and Kylie together but TPTB want Kylie with David.

I doubt that they would kill Tina off. Her affair with Peter Barlow will obviously end in tears but I bet she'll be pregnant when she leaves. I don't think David's going anywhere though.

Leanne is a dreadful character now because all she does is bounce between Nick and Peter. She should stay with Toyah for a year.

You hit the nail on the head with the word "regenerate". Things need to be kept fresh and new instead of the normal ground hog day stories, David chucks Gail out the house, then Gail chucks him out. David chucks Audrey out the salon, now she chucks him out. Tiresome. Paula Lane is a cracking little actress and the Corrie for the future. I have nothing against Helen Worth but her blinking whispering character is now stale and more than tiresome. David also is coming rather close to his sell by. Not sure if Kylie should be with Nick though as he looks well old enough to be her dad.

I'd loved to have Nick with kylie...They have great chemistry...or the actors do...

No, I don't think Nick and Kylie should actually get together but there should always be a frisson of 'what might have been.' Characters don't need a physical relationship for there to be sexual chemistry and I'd hoped that was going to be the case with Peter and Carla. That story lost something when the characters did the obvious.

Nick and Leanne should stay together as a world weary couple who realise passionate love isn't everything. I don't know what they can do with David now except eventually re-unite with Kylie. Kylie is far too good for him and Paula Lane is the one that carries that storyline. It's a shame but I wouldn't really miss Gail's character if she left, and David wouldn't be missed at all.

I'm soooo fed up with David, how many more times can he get away with being so manic, he doesn't deserve Kylie, I love her character now, Paula Lane is brilliant. And yes I do think Kylie and Nick work well together, the age difference? Well Deirdre and Ken made it work- kind of. The Platts ongoing tragedies are wearing a bit thin. Bring back Gail's Dad and get him to sort them all out. Leanne defiantly needs a make over, she's so miserable now, Leanne is lovely when she's happy-as far as I can remember- she's not been happy for a long time.

Whoops! That should be definitely, not defiantly.

It's been a good story and the fall out will make for interesting viewing. However,it's difficult to see where they can believably go in the long term with some of the Platt-Tilsley characters. The actors- with the exception of the truly cringeworthy Ben Price- are all excellent. But,as a family, how much more than they realistically endure. Gail must be the most resiliant woman on the planet. Nothing seems to have any longterm impact on her. And just how many more times can David be forgiven?
As I say,it will be interesting in the short term but Ican't help feeling that the writers are boxing themselves into a corner by constantly inflicting so much drama on this family.

Kylie should be with Jason - or would that be too much like a 'neighbours' connection ;)

The storyline would have been more interesting if Nick had fallen for Kylie. I have never understood why he'd want Leanne. Having said that, David and Kylie are great together too. Like Carla and Peter, I can't help rooting for them.

arrghhh! The writers will write and we will forget and accept oh soap slaves.

Nick is too old for Kylie.

Kylie and David belong together, they both have evil in them (most people seem to forget what a rotten character Kylie was when Becky was still there).

Kylie and Nick should not, ever, be seen as the innocent parties. They are the root cause of everything David did.

I Love David and Kylie together, ok sure what David did was terrible, but he is a good dad and really loves them. And I agree Nick is too old for Kylie, yeah they do look like they have some chemistry, but David and Kylie belong together. I hope the writers get them back together so they can be a little family again!

Agree with Anon 15:12, when you get to the bottom of the pile, it was Kylie and Nick who were in the wrong, they should not be rewarded.

Kylie is too immature for Nick. She barely knows what she wants out of life, while for as long as we've seen this incarnation, Nick has been his own man. There shouldn't be an issue with men and women liking each other but not being a couple. Steve & Eileen, Dev & Sophie, Ty & Sally, wouldn't pair any of them up, but sit them down in a room and it works.

Leanne is, quite rightly, angry. She didn't stomp away, she went to cool off (and I'm so glad it was with Toyah!). I think she'll see that it was a one off, that happened because she looked at Peter on their wedding day. She's had them, she's had partners who've had them, it was nothing, they'll get back together, and they're good together. In a stable, non-fireworks way.

Makeover fix everything! Gail takes a skills update course for older workers, gets a good paying job away from the bistro, with space away from family, gets her confidence and personality back. David goes to and sticks with therapy as a condition of the family not turning him over to the police, Kylie takes him back (they are good together). Audrey changes her mind, but she can't take back the house money, so she leaves Gail the salon. Gail & David trade, house now for business later.

I know Nick and Kylie are both guilty but regardless of that I'm still fed up with the whole Demon David scenario.

Platt Schmatt..who cares? This is another storyline that dragged itself to death, so that when it all came to a head at the christening, I didn't give a toss. Go go round. David in then out of the house. Gail out then back in again. Audrey tells David to pack and go..again. The end of this family would be a good thing for the street IMO..except for Audrey. They really don't seem to know what to do with the poor dear now do they but I'd rather watch her than shifty eyed David and whispering whimpering Gail.

Also..where does the ex prostie/druggie/arsonist/lap dancer Leanne get off taking the moral high ground with Nick? She would have dropped him like a stone on their wedding day for Peter if Carla hadn't shown up. Selective memory I guess. Maybe somebody should throw that in her face - take her down a few notches. What a hypocrite!!

Sorry but Coronation Street needs more imagination than pairing up Nick and Kylie. It's not musical beds. And it wouldn't be hard to find a better Nick re-incarnation than Adam Rickitt, but somehow they managed it with Ben Price. Every time I saw him this week, I kept thinking: he's meant to be 31.
He looks older than Gail.

Flaming Nora I agree with you - Nick & Kylie are pure magic. They work great together in the Bistro and hey could bring up little Lily and Max together. Leanne is too mean and shrewish these days. Her days are done. Same with David. He's done so much harm that nobody can feel passion for him. His mum, Graham, his gran, Gary Windass, Joe McIntyre, Bethany, his own brother - you name it and he has done some really nasty, evil things. Lewis had it right in that good-bye video he made for the family. Time to get rid.

You're all mean, Gail is brilliant and very funny at times. Perhaps a handsome man can come along and she and Audrey fight over him, again!!

No i reckon David and Kylie should stay together but Leanne and Nick should break up, they're to boring and give something fro Leanne to be happy about, maybe bring Toyah back

Nick is meant to be 31? My goodness. I never gave it much thought as he wasn't on the show when I started watching, but I assumed he was in his late 30's. Yeah, that's bad casting.

And no, Nick and Kylie shouldn't get together. Love Paula Lane, love what they've done with Kylie but I would love to see her become a strong single mother rather than end up with Nick.

Yes, poor, poor David, Kylie and Nick were so wrong... yawn. Kylie and Nick might actually make something interesting out of their relationship; he'd bring her maturity and she'd get him to loosen up. David and Tina should run off together and join the circus!

Poor kylie she was finally feeling in a real family unit and one stupid night and it;s out the door. I can see David brooding and getting all dark and kicking out his mother and Kylie and selling the house from under them and Audrey losing the salon and he going off in the sunset with Tina I know he really loves Max and Lily perhaps he will take Lily with him but I see tears before bed time... /Wish gail could find a decent man who will become her rock.

Anonymous @ 00:46 you are too funny!!

I will be absolutely livid if Kylie and Nick get together. For one thing, David didn't actually try to kill Nick so the break-up with him and Kylie is stupid. For another thing, Nick still tried to pressure Kylie into an abortion and I don't see why that should be forgotten about just because he was in a car crash. That's much worse than panicking in a car and causing an accident.

And no, ugh, Kylie is not too good for David. She slept with his brother. They are well matched because they're both capable of being nasty little idiots, but both ultimately very easy to empathise with, unlike Nick who has all the personality of a plastic bag despite his slimeyness.

I WOULD LIKE TO SEE LEANNE AND STEVE TOGETHER AND MICHELLE WITH LLOYD CAUSE LLOYD IS THE MOST ANNOYING CHARACTER THERE COULD BE AND I WOULD LIKE TO SEE ROB WITH SALLY AND TIM WITH ANNA TRACY CONVINING BARLOW DESERVES TO STAY IN PRISON ALONG WITH TINA AS A CELL MATE AND KYLIE DESERVES SOME HAPPINESS WITH JASON GRIMSHAW AND FOR DAVID PLATT HE DESERVES TO BE WITH EVA PRICE
