Corrie writer profile: Emily Gascoyne

Emily Gascoyne's first episode of Coronation Street aired on Friday 31 January 2020 at 8.30pm. It contained the wonderful line from Sally about Tim's bigamy. When Abi said the news would be tomorrow's fish and chip wrappings, Sally pointed out that the news had made it online in the Weartherfield Gazette. She replied: "You can't wrap fish and chips up in the world wide web."

Love it!

Emily was Senior Producer at Hollyoaks after working her way up from Story Producer and Freelance Writer. She's also worked at EastEnders as Series Story Producer and at Emmerdale as Story Producer and Story Editor.

Soap is in Emily's blood. Back in the days of Brookside, she worked as a Script Assistant.

There's a good interview with Emily at the Royal Television Society website.
