Fancy a slap-up spread at the Rovers Return?

With thanks to the Conversation Street podcast and MatthewGeorgewh on Twitter for alerting us to these amazing old recipes from a Coronation Street special pull-out inside a 1960s magazine.

They're taken from the recipe section of the March 1963 issue of Woman magazine.

I've never seen them before and I love them.

Here are some more!

Breakfast with the Hewitts, anyone?

Fancy a snack from the corner shop?

My personal favourite - a candelight supper with Elsie Tanner.

Ooh, Ena, I couldn't eat another eclair! Sunday Tea at the Vestry.

And if you like this sort of thing, then you'll love our series of blog posts taken from the Coronation Street recipe book published in the 1980s. We crack on with making some of the recipes from the book, with step by step instructions. Don't try this at home. Well, only if you feel brave.
