The previews are in from ITV for next week’s Coronation Street and Daniel and Sinead meet with the oncologist who says her cancer isn’t responding to treatment and she only has a few weeks to live. In a state of shock Sinead’s insistent they must attend Ken’s 80th birthday party.
At the party Ken’s thrilled to see Norris there and touched when Emily skypes him from Edinburgh.
At Bertie’s party in the Rovers’ back yard Sinead fights back tears as she breaks the news to family and friends that she only has weeks to live. Ken shares his terrible news about Sinead to those in the Rovers. Ken is clearly struggling to keep his emotions bottled.
Back at the flat Sinead tells Daniel how sorry she is that she has to leave him but she knows Bertie will be in safe hands. Daniel finally surrenders to the tears.

Im going to have to buy tissues. Rob Mallards a great crier so I know Ill be in bits :-(
As a Canadian viewer I am a little surprised at the lack of support being shown to Daniel and Sinead by their neighbours.
I would have thought that more of the women on the street would offer to babysit and perhaps drop off prepared meals to them.
But having said that there doesn't appear to be any support from National Health - wouldn't nurses or social workers or some sort of professional assistance and support be available?
Emily skyping, nice. Sinead...oh my...so sad and yes stock up on tissues. As for anonymous, yes the idea of the meals and support would be nice...but there is so only so much the writers can squeeze in I guess. To do those scenes would take actors away from other storylines.
We don't do meals for neighbours over here.
