Alison King interview on Carla kissing Daniel
Alison King has revealed that Carla Connor acts “like a cat with a mouse” as she makes a surprise move on Daniel Osbourne in Coronation Street next week.
In an interview with What's on TV, Alison King says that bookish Daniel isn’t the kind of fella you’d usually imagine Carla getting her claws into.
But he’s handsome, virile and up for some fun, and it seems those are the basic requirements for the former factory boss, who’s in need of a distraction next week in Corrie when she gets bad news about her health after she collapses to the cobbles.
Carla invites herself back to Daniel's flat next week and Alison King says: “Carla isn’t looking for love and she is truly happy on her own, but when she gets bored, she quite likes to do things to take her mind off stuff. She is a bit like a cat with a mouse, playing with Daniel. It is something to do. It isn’t a big romance in her eyes.”
Thoughts of sappy Sinead go straight out of the window for Daniel, and that’s a crying shame for the blonde, who heads to his flat to tell him she wants to try again – only to see him snogging Carla on the doorstep.

I'm always wary of characters coming back even when they're played by good actors. Carla's return is a case in point. Also in this category are: Toyah, Peter (surely someone's head needs to roll), Brian (most of the time), and others probably. The only returner I can think of who has actually succeeded is Jenny. Gina might as well be a new character; it's so long since we've seen her and it's a different actress. As for Carla, I guess she won't be around for long but what's happened to this row between her and Michelle. Is it something to do with the kidney transplant?
Daniel? Handsome? Virile? I've always thought he looks like a wuss. I don't see him as particularly handsome either.
Yup. Daniel is a hottie in my books!
Daniel would be more handsome with a better haircut, but I guess they've done it that way to mimic Ken. Handsome maybe, but not a hottie (that's Adam!).
I'm glad though, to see Daniel not mope over Sinead. She's turned into an annoying character, although she was fresh and quirky when she first came on the show.
Humpty makes an interesting point about returning characters. I think Peter's been the best return of all, but I have to agree about Toyah, Brian and Gina.
I have looked forward to Carla's return and so far I haven't been disappointed. She's glam and fab!
I always think he looks like he could do with a good meal.
I find Daniel to be quite attractive! Peter has always grossed me out. I guess it’s the whole “different strokes...” thing!!
Its about time Daniel was killed off. He is a boring character.
If they are mimicking Ken the he has to be a boring character.
well no matter what you think of Daniel (personally I think he is rather good looking) you have to admit that he is a whole lot better than Chesney.
Wish it was adam or someone new she was fooling about with, she's well out of his league and i won't watch these scenes which is shame cause she my fave. I am looking forward to her main sl though, which would've been alot better without the crappy input from daniel, peter and toyah
