Rita finally relents towards Gemma, realises she got it wrong about her breaking into the Kabin and the two of them make friends. Rita even has a word with Rosie Webster to get her to help Gemma get the dreadful duo of Zoe and Roxy off her back too.  So, Gemma and Rita are mates again and all is well with the world.  That is, until Rita sets a place at the dinner table for Len and Gemma’s in tears wondering what to do. She confides in Rosie about Rita’s memory loss and admits she’s in over her head with it all. Heartbreaking stuff indeed.

After her win on the scratch card last week, Shona invests all the cash in a bond for her son Clayton for when he’s released from jail. And who does she turn to, to help set up the bond for her? Why, our new local solicitor’s practice of course where Todd does the necessary.  Shona scratches another itch when she and David get mucky on the floor at Roy’s Rolls. I just hope Roy can get the stains out of the lino.

Over at the Bistro, a review in the local paper calls Robert by the wrong name of Nick, which is understandable as the place is still called Nick’s Bistro. Robert decides to do the place up and give it a new name, enlisting the help of Will to help design it.

Sally’s annoyed with Gina when she finds a box of bric a brac at Dev’s shop that Gina told her she’d sold to help pay off her debts. Further lying to her sister, Gina says she’s clearing her debts but applies for a loan online. Meanwhile, Sally finds out that the Mayor of Weatherfield has handed in his notice and she decides to apply for the job.

Gary returns from Ukraine this week and he’s been beaten black and blue. But as his injuries are under his t-shirt and he and Sarah have no time to do what David and Shona did, us fans are the only one who knows the awful truth about how dangerous his job is out there.  Worse is to come when he’s offered another job there and decides to take it, leaving both Sarah and Izzy fuming at him for deserting them again.

Jenny hires posh Helene to design her bridesmaid dresses for her and Eva’s joint wedding, which she absolutely loves. Less keen are the bridesmaids themselves – Gemma, Kate and Maria who detest the gravy-coloured frocks.  Jenny, however, won’t be swayed.  There’s a bit of a moment when absent-minded Rita knocks a cup of coffee onto the wedding shoes as the girls are having their dress fitting but Gemma does the decent thing and takes the blame herself.  However,  Jenny isn’t ready to forgive Gemma or befriend her, as she thinks she’s pulling the wool over Rita’s eyes about the break in at the Kabin.  And so when Gemma needs someone to talk to about Rita’s memory loss, she can’t bring herself to confide in Jenny although she desperately tries.

And finally this week over at Roy’s Rolls, Yasmeen and Nicola have a chat about Pat Phelan with Yasmeen knowing that Nicola’s Phelan’s daughter. Yasmeen tells Nicola not to trust Pat, that he’s a wrong ‘un with money and deserves a wide berth.  Phelan has still got Andy locked up in the cellar of a big house in the middle of nowhere and Andy’s in a bad state with an injured arm. Will Pat help him out or will be continue to sit by Andy’s bedside getting philosophical?  A rum do indeed.
And that’s just about that for this week.
