State of the Street - August
August was quite a month on Coronation Street. Michelle is being stalked. Naturally. She's irresistible and men can't help but become obsessed by her after one minor rejection. Will. I've seen scarier stalkers trying to find a parking space in the carpark at Christmas. Steve got engaged to Leanne and then they backed down. A non-starter but who knows where it goes? David and Shona started up a relationship with rules and regulations. I foresee a bumpy ride. Sarah and Gary are off again and on again in their grand Flip Flop tradition.
Mary and Norris marry because Mary was too ashamed to call it off when her son showed up to give her away. It's all a lie because of some stupid competition that insists on their competitors being married. What century are they living in? Someone needs to remind them it's 21st century.
ITV gave us a great twist in Phelan's storyline, keeping the secret that Andy Carver is still alive buried until this month. Fans might have been speculating but nobody knew for sure until those chains rattled in a dark corner, and it wasn't Jacob Marley though I think Phelan is starting to feel a bit haunted. It's only going to get more interesting from here.
