Coronation Street director's dog lost and found in Sunderland

Duncan Foster is one of the Coronation Street Directors.  This week his pet dog, a cavalier King Charles spaniel Willow vanished from outside his daughter’s home in the north-east.

Duncan thought he saw a woman putting the dog into a car. He took to the streets of South Tyneside and Sunderland with Willow’s sister Missy to appeal for people’s help. And happily for him, Willow was found safe and well at an address in my home city of Sunderland.

Overjoyed Duncan was contacted shortly after a story about Willow’s disappearance appeared on the Sunderland Echo website - where you can see a video of Duncan and Willow.

Duncan said: “It is an immense sense of relief that she has been returned. It has been a traumatic 24 hours. I just want to say ‘thank you’ to everyone who helped look for her. Without them, I don’t think she would have been returned.”

Duncan, who lives near Stanley in County Durham, has worked as a director for Coronation Street since 2002, as well as overseeing the 2008 spin-off video Coronation Street: Out of Africa. He has directed 236 episodes of Coronation Street.
