Paul O'Grady's rescue dog is on Coronation Street tonight

Paul O'Grady has helped a rescue dog to appear on Coronation Street. The dog will be on Corrie tonight, seen coming out of the Rovers with Ken Barlow.  Apparently, Grady spotted star potential in the pup while filming an edition of his ITV series For The Love Of Dogs.

Paul O'Grady said about the dog: "She was good as gold. It took one take, the dog was the star - I think it was my tutelage in the dressing room. She gave the Barlows a run for their money, she upstaged the lot of them. She's one of these breeds that people say 'Oh no', but she's a sweetheart, she really is. You have to look below the surface really. She's just brilliant, but because of what she is people say no, they've got such a bad reputation."

The dog's visit to Coronation Street will feature in the third series of For The Love Of Dogs, to be screened on TV in September.
