The Daily Star today is reporting the return of Vicky Entwhistle who is reprising her character of Janice Battersby on Corrie sometime early in the new year. Janice left to go traveling with Trevor the binman in 2011
It's a surprise move if it's true because even earlier this year, Vicky was telling reporters that she didn't want to return.
“Never, absolutely never. I wouldn’t go back again. I left because I
didn’t like it any more. It was boring. There are too many parts I want
to play and I like to be scared.”
But we also heard Stuart Blackburn hint at another return of a favourite character in a recent interview and this news appears to be the spark behind the smoke. However, although the spoiler seems to be coming from that inevitable "insider", Mr. Curry Sauce as he's known here on the blog, a Corrie spokesperson is denying it and Ms. Entwhistle's "people" are saying nowt.

Oh please, no - she's probably the last character I'd want to see back (along with the other one, Les).
Janice isn't exactly who I would consider a 'favorite' character,Toyah yes but Janice no as all she does is revel in the misery of others.I also shudder to think which well liked but underused character would get the axe to make room for Janice?
I think Corrie have now officially confirmed that Janice will not be returning
I hate when actors make negative comments about their time on Corrie. I think her statement is rude and ungrateful for an opportunity of a lifetime. Disappointing....
Yes this has now been denied as a rumour. But I wouldnt want to see Janis back - why? She wasnt a particularly popular nor pleasant character that had run her course. Some characters are just best left in the past. Now Toyah I would like to see back even if just for a visit - now sophisticated and successful compared to her sour faced working in a kebab shop sister!
I'd put good money on it being Sarah-Louise that comes back.
In what way is it the oppoortunity of a lifetime? As an actor surely it's just another job - and I quite understand actors getting bored or disliking the stuff they're made to do. Just like working anywhere surely?
Why would anyone want Sarah-Louise back? She wasn't a particularly likeable character. I found her to be very whiny and self-absorbed and she made a lot of bad choices in her life. Not much different than Maria (another character who in my opinion is past her sell-by-date)
Believe me, for a jobbing actor, a permanant contract on Corrie IS the opportunity of a lifetime. I don't know anyone in the business who would refuse it.
what a waste of an article.
Could be Lewis Archer returning?
Yes Corrie is an opportunity of a lifetime! The actress who plays Sarah Louise is about to, or perhaps has already, had a baby. So I doubt it will be her returning.
Louis Archer is a good guess tho!
Maybe Brian? (Julie's Brian) Spider (Emily's nephew).
Would be lovely if it were Roy's Mum -- but I'm not sure how they could write her back in....
