Here's a bit of an opinionated wrap up on the major stories for June on Coronation Street and quite a good month it's been, for the most part.
The surrogacy story wound down (and I know many of you out there are thanking the Storyline Gods but I enjoyed it!). Evil David is back and starting to exact his revenge on Nick. But what about Kylie? Dev's quest nearly got him a golf trophe on the back of his skull. But the best thing about June was the Cropper storyline! Superb stuff!

...and what a beautiful cinematic image they created for Roy's midnight stroll with the full moon!
Oh my giddy aunt!
It's nice but it's missing Eccles. Or at least they should have had the dog walk ahead or cgied her in like they did the moon
Oh never mind. I can see her little legs if i look at the photo closer
Oh I love Sylvia..tossing tea into Tracy's lap..she's awesome!!
What was the timeline on Friday. It was dark when Roy went for his sleep walk, it doesnt get completely dark until 10.00 pm at this time of year - a bit late for a lone woman to be walking her dog in the park and Divendra to be banging on someones door asking for rent when there is a child in the flat.
I guess that should have been Ken walking Eccles. Dierdre wouldn't be out on her own at night.
I too enjoyed the storyline, and the park looked beautiful, but I do think they got a bit carried away in choosing the location. The idea that the park they used was within walking distance of the Street was ludicrous.
I'd love an article showing photos of the "red rec" over the years?
How is it that the writers can consistently write such wonderful dialogue for Sylvia, yet not for other characters? Some of her speeches could almost have been written by Tony Warren or John Stephenson. Surely Stephanie Cole doesn't add those zingers herself?
Sylvia's been transformed. She cares passionately about her son and understands him completely. She can be vicious but only as required. And there's the difference between Sylvia and Gloria. Sylvia's developed layers to her character while Gloria is still a bit of flimsy tissue. I wouldn't be surprised to hear that Sue Johnston has the same thoughts as Oliver Mellor regarding character development.
Well, every cloud has a silver lining. Now standing on her own two feet, Deirdre has been saved! AK is such a good actor when given half the chance and her lines were so funny, eg something like: 'There are a lot of weirdos round here. Hang on, I know this one.' Priceless.
