Former Crossroads star, Sue Hanson, will be coming to Coronation Street later in the fall as a character named Penny. This may coincide with Lewis' temporary departure as Nigel Havers leaves to do panto over the Christmas season, though we've been assured he'll be back.
Sue played a character called "Miss" Diane Lawton for a number of years before being killed off in 1987. The actress wanted to focus her energy on raising her family and has only returned to acting recently. Her stint on Corrie will be short term.

Looking forward to seeing her. I'm sure she's ditched the Farrah hairdo years ago:)
I am looking forward to seeng her too, isnt she married to a famous 60s pop singer?
She was but he passed away. She's really god friends with Sue Nicholls as they were both in crossroads and I loved her as Miss Diane. Shes a brilliant actress and perfect for the street! Really pleased- Micky
Miss Diane!! I can hear Benny now!-NN
I was thrilled to see miss Diane in Coronation street this week. I have always wondered what happened to her after crosswords. I worked in a store in Knightsbridge as a girl and she was very nice when saw her, hope she stays longer, from another Diane.
