TRACY CLINGS TO STEVE’S HONEYED WORDS. Tracy’s had a comfortable night but the Doctor’s warn Ken and Deirdre that though she’s not out of the woods yet, she’s responding well to treatment. When Tracy wakes up however all she can discuss is what Steve said to her the night before. It’s helping her through the ordeal because she knows now more than ever that they’re destined to be together again. After being told the good news about Tracy, Steve finds himself getting closer to Michelle when he gets rid of Niall from the cab office after catching him hassling Ryan. He gives Ryan a pep talk about getting involved with low life scum telling him about his own troubles years ago with Jez Quigly. Michelle’s delighted by Steve’s fatherly actions and she instinctively reacts in a way he hadn’t dared to hope. When he visits Tracy however he realises the impact his words the pervious evening have had. Will he be able to tell her that the relationship she’s dreaming of working on with him isn’t going to happen?
HAYLEY TRIES TO FIND OUT WHAT MARY REALLY WANTS WITH ROY. Roy’s perplexed when Mary’s brusque after he suggests they have a nice chess game to make up for missing the Elgar concert. When he shares his bemusement with Hayley, Anna takes her to one side. She reckons its clear Mary had designs on Roy but was thwarted. Needing to get to the bottom of things Hayley tackles Mary. Mary confesses that she did have a crush but then realised she had no hope. How will Hayley react when she hears her reason why?
CHESNEY TRIES TO PUT OFF THE INEVITABLE. Katy’s furious when Chesney finally tells her the van’s a right off.
Elsewhere Tyrone relies further on Kevin when he decides to report Kirsty as missing to the police. But will he like what the police have to tell him?

STEVE’S CAUGHT BETWEEN A ROCK AND A HARD PLACE. Steve’s deeply uncomfortable when Tracy asks Amy if she’d like her mummy and daddy to get back together. Later in the pub the conundrum he’s in even makes him back off Michelle a bit. Later he apologises to Michelle and they kiss again unaware that Amy’s watching them. Steve’s like a rabbit caught in the headlights when a distressed Amy reveals that he’s meant to be getting back with Tracy. Michelle’s icy when she tells him they need serious words as there’s no way she’s going to be hurt by him again. Steve confesses that he said stuff to Tracy to help her get through her ordeal. It was wrong of him but he couldn’t think what else to do! Michelle tells him Tracy needs to know the truth fast or they’ll be over before they’ve even started. Like a man facing the gallows Steve heads for the hospital. As Tracy discusses where she and Steve might live and how happy they’ll be Steve announces that he just wants to be on his own. Will she believe him? And how will Deirdre react to a little nugget of information Amy shares with her?
IZZY AND GARY CONSIDER ADOPTION. Chesney and Katy are fretting about their van problem until Gary arrives and chucks the keys to his van on the table. The couple protests but Gary insists. The van’s theirs as an indefinite loan as they’re practically family now and need to look out for each other. Chesney’s chuffed and he and Katy ask Gary and Izzy to be Joseph’s Godparents. Later Izzy sees that Gary he’s down. It’s great being a Godparent but it’s hardly the same as having a kid of your own is it? Later when they tell Anna the news that they’re going to be godparents she notices their delight is tinged with heartache and suggests a possible solution.
MARY ANNOUNCES THAT SHE’S LEAVING. Mary arrives at the Kabin and makes it known that it’s time for her to move on to pastures new. She’s leaving today. Norris obviously can’t wait to spread the news. Hayley blames herself and explains to a disbelieving Roy that Mary had designs on him. Later Roy takes a call from the hotel in Malvern that makes Hayley change her opinion regarding Mary’s behaviour.
Elsewhere Karl begs Rob for a job at the factory.

I'm curious.. what exactly did Steve say to Tracy to make her think that they were getting "back" together? We are still a month or so behind in Canada...
Rebecca in TO.
Rebecca in TO. Steve told Tracy that part of him would always love her a bit for giving him Amy.....oh-oh wrong thing to say to delusional Tracy!
I'm assuming Karl has had no higher education thus he drives a cab and is now begging for a job in the Faktry.....just what did Stella see in him?
THanks Chia.. so "part of him" would always love her " a bit". That wouldn't do it for me! But then I'm not delusional..
The important thing to remember about Stella is that at some point in the past, she had intimate relations with Les Battersby. That puts everything into perspective... next to Les, Karl is quite the catch ;)
Chia: have you noticed or is it just me. Doesn't seem many or any of the characters have much education above grade 12 if that. Nick seems the most educated but he went to Canada. Only Andy wanted to go to uni and he failed, the writers could do a better job in this area.
