Well, that remains a rumour but what we can confirm is that Corrie are definitely casting for an actress to play Stella's mum on Coronation Street.
A Corrie spokeswoman told us here on the Coronation Street Blog today: "We are currently looking to cast Stella's mum. We would never comment on who we may or may not be interested in for any role."
So, that's interesting news, eh? Even if it not's Sue Johnston joining the Corrie cast, for Stella to get a mum is big news indeed.

Wow! Sue Johnston is a fantastic actress. Whatever your view on Stella, Sue would be an asset to the Street.

Wasnt much made of Stella having no family and having to depend on Les's mother when she failed to bring up her daughter Leanne? Now like Roy's mother who was supposed to be dead, she is to be resurrected just to bump up an already bulging cast.
