The Corrie guide to good food

It's one of the things that many a Corrie devotee has noticed over the years. The half-eaten meals, scabby kebabs, the slurry-like hotpots, the seemingly cold fried breakfasts in Roy's Rolls - Weatherfield has not provided inspiration for Nigel Slater's Simple Suppers.

Instead, it's a never-ending lard fest for the inhabitants of Coronation Street. This week though, one resident excelled herself with a meal plan so vile that I almost dropped my plate of brawn.

For those with strong stomachs, Come Dine With Corrie at http://clinkerstoriddle.blogspot.com/ or just prepare yourself a nice salad.

Let us not forget Sallys obsession with fish fingers for the girls tea...
I was rather hoping that fate would've stepped in at some point and either Rosie or Sophie woke up one morning coated in breadcrumbs!
"Mum, muuuuuum! What's 'appening to me??"
"Shurrup love and get in the grill!"

I guess Jamie Oliver doesn't watch Corrie, or he'd have had a spot on a few eps by now, as himself. Betty and The Naked Chef - Showdown at High Noon!

maggie muggins - I'd pay to see that!
And I do wish someone would wean Sally Websters mind off bloomin' fish fingers!!

BTW, Freshco must be doing well now that nobody can get to Devs...

Dont forget that great staple of the Northern diet - Baked Beans. I would love to know where you could get a substantial fry up such as the one on Roy's board for under three quid as well!

Ah of course, baked beans! I'm surprised the air isn't rent assunder with released flatus!

I'd love to see a great storyline featuring a cooking contest where Betty has to judge the winning entry but comes down with food poisoning and its left to Steve & Becky to step in and save the day. Or a celeb chef steps in 'passing by' and helps out at the Rovers one lunchtime.
It's *got* to happen at some point!

Does anyone know what spac roll is?
It's a dish I've heard them refer to several times on the show. Thanks everyone.
