Favourite Corrie characters countdown - tenth poll

Hello all! Now, I hope you've voted in the eighth poll of ten because that is now officially closed. But you have until midnight next Tuesday to vote for two of your favourite characters in the ninth poll.

So, who's in our final poll?

Phyllis Pearce - The gravel voiced, purple haired pensioner who worked at Jim's Cafe in the 1980s. Best remembered for chasing fellow OAP Percy Sugden who continously tried to resist her. She had a young heart and lived life to the full and after being forced to retire from the cafe she became Des Barnes' housekeeper. She later moved to Mayfield Court.

Jack Duckworth - Pigeon lover Jack followed in Stan Ogden’s footsteps as the layabout husband, who also had a window cleaning round – but he spent most of his time with bored housewives! A fan of Newton and Ridley ale, he was in heaven as the Rovers’ cellar man and more so when be became the pub’s landlord. When wife Vera died in 2008, it wasn’t the same for Jack and he passed away two years later.

Sophie Webster - The youngest daughter of Kevin and Sally. Since Brooke Vincent took on the role in 2004, Sophie has become her own character. She's pretended to be pregnant, convereted to Christianity and became the first lesbian character on Corrie.

Percy Sugden - The nosy and opinionated caretaker of the Community Centre in the 1980s who later became Emily's lodger. Echoing Albert Tatlock, Percy would bore many of the residents with his wartime stories - even though he only worked in the Catering Corps! He kept a budgie called Randy and was constantly pursued by Phyllis who fancied. He was briefly engaged to Maud Grimes. He left the street for Mayfield Court.

Gail McIntyre - She’s had four husbands and three children – who’ve in their time given poor Gail grief. Her first husband was murdered, her second one had an affair with a nurse, her third turned out to be a murderer and her recent one drowned – and Gail was imprisoned for killing him. She was later found innocent. Gail’s had two nemeses over the years: mother in law Ivy Tilsley and neighbour Eileen Grimshaw.

Stan Ogden - The layabout husband of Hilda who had a string of jobs over the years but didn't do much because he always off sick. But it didn't affect him from sitting by the Rovers bar supping ale from and doing scams with Eddie Yeats! By the early 80s, Stan's health was deteriorating and he died in 1984. Hilda weeping over his glasses is one of the most heartbreaking scenes in the soap's history.

Have you got favourites in this six? Well, vote for two of them and we'll see where they'll be in the countdown!
