Moira Pollock is a bit like marmite

Moira Pollock is a bit like marmite. Either you love her with her never-ending gossip and non-existent filter, or you loathe her. As the residents of the street seem to sway towards the latter, I’d like to say that I absolutely adore her.

Ever since she invaded the medical centre as receptionist, Moira is just fascinating. She’s just funny and really is pure joy. Yes, you could argue that she never has a storyline, but I love that she doesn’t need to. It’s kind of reassuring to know that she will always be loitering somewhere to offer her cut-throat opinion. Moira is nothing but brutally honest, and she doesn’t realise it. In Moira’s world she’s just being direct.

Her tenacity to find love is inspiring, if you too wish to lock eyes with someone in a crowded room. I don’t think there’s anyone that she hasn’t tried it on with before, and Ben, Maria’s first date, was her latest conquest. Although, she definitely had more of a connection with his theatre-loving mum. We’ll forget about the Colin fiasco a couple of years ago.

Singing in the pub with a complete stranger is what makes Moira so brilliant, in the same episode as trying to hit on Jan and squeeze every bit of juicy gossip as possible from Liz and Eileen.

Moira fits into a perfect slot on Coronation Street. Her personality is strangely endearing as deep down she’s only trying to be happy... whilst sticking her nose into wherever she can. Also, Louiza Patikas is amazing and I hope she goes nowhere anytime soon.

I feel sad for Moira, she is desperate to find a man, also desperate to find a a woman that will be a friend to her. no-one seems to have the time for her, and just wants to run away whenever she comes near. She needs a friend.

Can't stand her personally she's selfish, interfering and the worst kind of false friend.

I love her and equally love comparing her drop-in Corrie comedy role with the hugely serious Helen Archer whom she also plays. Of course the mystique of imagining what Archers’ characters look like has been shattered, but hey ho! Being a radio actor demands quite different skills to tv, and she has both in spades.

Absolutely loathe her. Not funny, not endearing in the slightest. Get rid.

I don't like her at all. It never feels that she could be a real person ( which I thought was the point of being an actor) her mannerisms are odd and the way her lines are delivered is just weird.

I like her but wish she could have a proper storyline

Moora is just a foil for the other actors. Whilst intelligent her social skills are lacking, maybe a turn as a Rover's Barmaid would help her fit in better...and a man..any man apparently
