Are we going to see Wayne Hayes again? Let's hope so. I loved him. The campaign starts here to get him back in Weatherfield. Okay, so it's not a campaign. It's a blog post filled with my opinion, because that's what blogging is all about. If you think differently and would like to say so, we're always open to guest blog posts, get in touch!
Wayne's relationship with Roy wasn't all plain sailing. There was plenty of tension there in the short time Wayne was on screen. Surely it can only be a matter of time before he returns, Corrie, please? Won't he have to come back for more involvement in the never-ending roof collapse story?
And if you'd like to learn all about Wayne Hayes' storyline from start to end when Roy and Hayley fostered him, it's all - every single word written in a fan-friendly way - in A Perfect Duet: The Diary of Roy and Hayley Cropper, available in ebook and paperback here.

Yes, I'd like to see Wayne stay in Weatherfield.
Compared to all of the other drivel we are seeing, I would support his return in exchange for a major culling of deadwood on the streets right now.
I would agree too, but as soon as he returned tptb would totally change his character and persona into something we would no longer recognise, until there'd be cries of get rid. Kill him off!
Let's just keep the positive memories before his reputation is sullied
Jeanie (anon): I was thinking the same as Tilly Flop--so many characters come in fresh and dynamic and likeable and everyone loves them but then the show doesn't seem able to maintain that while also giving them their own story line; and the next moment we're all hoping they're out the door. Not sure if it's because the actors can't maintain an in-depth story once they're given it, or because the story itself doesn't work.
Yes please! But the keep him as nice as he has been, no sordid secrets or personality changes. It is about time we had more characters on the street who can tell the truth and keep out of trouble.
I'd like Wayne to simply -be a regular visitor but Corrie doesn't have those kind of characters. It makes sense that Wayne would pop back to see Roy but if he came back permanently, he'd end up living on the Street. Then he'd lose his job and get part time work in the Bistro. Regarding his Report, can someone remind me what the Report actually discovered? Was it simply foul play?
Yes please to Wayne's return if they don't give him a personality transplant. Corrie is short of nice intelligent men with some moral backbone!
Surely Roy can't be the only character with a notion of the difference between right and wrong. Please let Wayne come back! We need a character like him. But keep him just the way he is. Have to say, I thought the actor was wonderful.
