Ma Grimshaw pulled away when Jan the lodger tried to kiss her. But then she had a chat with Liz "go for it" McDonald followed by second thoughts and duly kissed him on the lips. We can only imagine the rest. And only if you want to. I'd rather not.
But anyway, what do we think about Eileen and Jan being An Item?
I like it - but then we don't know anything about Jan just yet. Is he part of the human trafficking storyline, involved with the bad guys (and girls) of the nail salon? Or is he, like Alina, a victim caught up in this? I guess we'll find out soon enough. I've got my fingers crossed Jan is a good 'un, for now. But in the world of soap, who knows?
And so, for now- what do you make of Eileen and Jan - Yay or Nay?

Nay.
Don't like Jan at all. Rubbish character.
He's bound to be involved in the trafficking story. Knowing Corrie he'll probably end up being Alina's father.
I also say nay due to the fact that Jan is involved in the human trafficking story line hence a rehashing of the Phelan storyline in which Eileen won't believe anyone about Jan until it's too late and someone is killed.
I don't watch current corrie any more but if I did, I would say Nay - never liked Eileen and she doesn't deserve any happiness. Awful character. Not too keen on the bloke either, always looks dirty.
EWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW...YUCK...that nasty looking pony tail!
Our Eileen deserves some happiness for once!! X
You know what a pony has under its tail ... just saying!
Everyone deserves some happiness in life, including you!
Jeanie (anon): My prediction is that Jan will come out as one of the good guys, not the bad--he will have been a victim/exploited himself so he knows the ropes and doesn't want to get pulled back in, but he won't have been involved in orchestrating it. But Paula (Sophie's girlfriend) will be into up to her eyebrows, in a more culpable way.
That said, I found the kissing scene pretty cringe-worthy--not because of the pony tail but because the two just don't seem to have much chemistry. It was very awkward and forced, as though both parties very much wanted to be elsewhere. So the pony tail, plus Eileen's habitual prune-faced expression, plus the exaggerated accent.... He worked better with Mary!
