New Year death for the Platts on Coronation Street

Jack P Shepherd, who plays David Platt in Coronation Street, has teased a shock death for the Platts this Christmas.

He said this to The Star on Sunday: "This year I think someone dies at New Year. It might be someone to do with the Platts, and no, it's not David's dog."

I'm hoping it's not Sue Nicholls wanting to leave the show as Audrey, or Helen Worth as Gail. Apart from that, for me, they could take the lot of them and chuck 'em into the canal. Ok, maybe not Sarah, I like Sarah a lot. Or David, he's too good to lose. But the kids, Nick or Bethany, would be no loss for me. Or maybe it's Shona's son in jail who pops off?

It's Lewis.

As the actor who plays Lewis is in pantomime - it must be him.

If it is Lewis, there must be a big Christmas story coming up for him and Audrey because he has made little impact of late. Perhaps they are about to tie the knot, with Gail wringing her hands, and then Lewis collapses.

It is Martin, he dies off screen.

It's a turkey they buy live :)

Counting Lewis or Clayton as a "Platt" is really stretching it, but I wouldn't be surprised if it is indeed one of those two.

Shows are good at killing off someone who's ultimately irrelevant for quick shock value.

I thought maybe it would be the fellow who raped David.

Could it be sarah? That would be a shock!

i think that the 'shock death'being hyped could be Gail's father Ted who dies off screen and Gail is informed by a distant relative.
