Will Ryan be the one to expose Karl? Lisa, Carla, Becky, Costello, Kit....it's all become a little too hard to suspend belief, I just want it to end. The storyline is terrible...
The beauty of Corrie used to be that we knew people like Stan and Eddie, the brash barmaid, the nosy Norris at the cabin..the gossip. Some of this police drama is hard to swallow for the ol' time Corrie lovers.
Most Dangerous street in the UK
The thing that I think is interesting, while raising awareness for x, y, z Causes, there is very little normal chat as there used to be around the Rovers. Lunchtime there was always discussions and laments for the "state of the world"...no one touches it, no one addresses it. Did you see the price of a bag of sugar lately?
Bah...I'm old
why don't we just rename this series the Becky and Theo show! That will help drive the viewers away, although they seem to be doing that on their own anyway! Can Kate Brooks do something about this or is it all her idea? If so, then it's seriously time for a producer change or there will be no viewers left!
Actually, I think you are right anon. It is down to Kate brooks and I agree with you. We need a change of producer.
Stan and eddie didn't have any storylines, did they? We have had several scenes in the kabin recently, where people have nattered while buying a paper. The stand outside has said '4 pages of local jobs'. Jobs aren't advertised in papers any more. That's why it's fiction and not fact!
Who wants to hear debates about trump, politics and asylum seekers in the rovers? I don't. I watch it for escapism.
Doesn't EastEnders have the most dangerous square in the UK?
As for the cost of stuff... I don't go in pubs but I was shocked when it was £4.50 for Tracey's glass of wine in the rovers. There was hardly anything in it!
Carl manipulates the Webster family, Becky manipulates Carla, Theo manipulates Todd. Too many similar themes at the same time. What the writers forget is that we need to engage with the characters involved - even the hated perpetrators. I still remember a scene where Richard Hillman bitterly recalled his mother's distress when paint splashed on her precious carpet. Made him less panto. Perhaps the writers had more time to develop characters a few years ago. Carla and Lisa might well have worked if they hadn't turned it into a Line of Duty show with rogue coppers who nobody cares about. I don't 'love to hate' any of the current villains. Deeply bored by them, scroll through my phone during their scenes. Watching Corrie is like supporting your favourite football team even though they keep losing. You remain loyal to them in a case of hope triumphing over experience.
Why didn't Todd heat up his dinner in the microwave? Theo wouldn't dare hit him again for fear of evidence. But PLEASE make it stop.
Stan and Eddie had a ton of storylines! I didn't mean to talk about the state of the world or politics, just everyday natter was something they used to do in the Rovers...neighbours joining in on convos.
How many murders have happened on the street? How many serial killers have their been, grooming gangs, etc. Almost every person has been in prison on the street! Those scenes in the Kabin haven't really been the norm though have they?
You nailed it Humpty...trying to remain loyal while hoping!
I don't recall any stories with Hilda, Stan or Eddie.
It's OTT because it's fiction and not reality. If you just had people going to buy a pint of milk at Devs and going for a dog walk, people would stop watching. You need conflict in order to create drama. I'm afraid this is the case with all soap operas. If it bothers you, don't watch it.
