Pics: Nick's returned to Coronation Street

There are paparazzi pictures online showing Ben Price who has returned to filming at Coronation Street as Nick Tilsley.

The pics show Ben having a run around MediaCity in Salford, where Corrie is filmed, so it looks as if he's having a break from filming, rather than being filmed. But still, if you're a Nick fan, you'll be pleased to know he's back.

You can view the pictures here.

Find out who else is returning, leaving or taking a break from Coronation Street.

Why on earth are they bringing this incredibly boring character back? I hate the way Gail simpers around him. Where will he work? Let me guess either the Rovers or the factory? I can think of dozens more characters I'd rather see return than dull Nick!

Nick was the dullest character on Corrie - - - until Jude. Now it will be a toss-up. Groan.

Yaaaaay! Love the character and the actor. Totally unfair to compare him to Jude who is just wooden. Nick is meant to be sort of dull, responsible, and self-righteous--in a typical oldest child way--but Price is a fine actor and gives many nuances to the character. I know lots of people have compared Gail to mother-in-law Ivy but Gail is way too naive and hopeful and fluttery to be a second Ivy. Nick seems a much closer match--sort of like a male reincarnation of Ivy, 30 yrs. younger but just as acidulated. Both have the same dour expression and slightly sour sense of humour and both share the sanctimonious, I-know-best because I'm clearly better than you attitude. Both are also very capable, fiercely loyal to family, and intelligent, for all their faults.

As well, the character and actor both have amazing chemistry with David and Gayle. Love that triple act--I have laughed out loud at so many of their scenes! A simpering Gayle, sarcastic David, and the long-suffering but loyal firstborn Nick. He works very well with Sara and Bethany too. Never thought the pairing with Carla worked that well; they never seemed that natural together. Maybe Toyah? Or Angie? Just please don't become Leanne's rebound AGAIN after she finds out about Imran!

I look forward to Nick's return! Could use a male Street regular of middle age. Hoping his storylines don't go in the unbelievable direction, like some are these days.

But not Toyah either, Jeanie - that too would be a recycled storyline. Leanne grudgingly accepted one of her ex-husbands getting together with her sister, but two ...?!?

I'm watching the 1990 Coronation Street repeats at the moment and Gail has a totally different character. She is determined and independent. When did she morph into the current nincompoop?

Jeanie (anon): Agreed, Cobblestone. After Peter AND Imran a third recycled boyfriend, shared between the sisters, would just be too much-not only repetitive but travelling into yuckyville!

Or Peter and Carla get back together and the tired old jealousy stuff comes back when she sees the 'love of her life' (I always thought Liam was the love of her life?) or Leanne wants to get back together and Gail gets real mad. I'm glad Ben is coming back though, I just hope it's with a fresh storyline.
